Last night I felt like something was leaking out of me. I went to the bathroom and u didn't think anything of it. It was a very thin clear watery discharge. This morning it happened again but I was more than last night. I read that it could be amniotic fluid but I'm not sure. Has anyone had this happen to them. It didn't happen again during the day so I'm just wondering what is going on. In a FTM so any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks ladies!
you could be leaking fluid...or just dishcharge. the only way to tell is go to l&d and have them test it...when my water broke, it didnt come all at once...as a matter of fact, i still had one "pocket" left when i delivered 13 hours later. definitely get checked!
I've sort of been wondering the same thing. I've had increased watery discharge but was told this is normal at an appointment. Earlier tonight I had a TINY gush when I peed that I was worrying about possibly being water breaking. (With my first it was a pop and a big gush then constant leaking as I quickly went right into labor-like needing a pad/washcloth to the hospital.) I would think it would be more constant if it was a real leak so I've been monitoring it closely throughout the night. I will be calling tomorrow morning though myself... GL
I was just looking up more info and ask I suspected, it really says that if you're leaking it'll be pretty constant and you'd feel the need to actually change your underwear. A test suggested was to lay down for 30 minutes and see if you get a gush when you stand up (which would suggest leaking.)
I had the same thing and just asked about it on Wednesday. I told nurse and doc that I just have been feeling like i've been leaking and it feels like more than it actually is. Both nurse and doc said it didn't sound like my waters breaking but would check just to be sure----it wasn't.
They said as you get closer to the end you definitely have alot more discharge. And that with the amniotic fluid there will be more consistency.
It doesn't hurt to call your OB. I had to for this same reason, got checked, was okay. But, heaven forbid I miss a slow leak for a week! So, if it happens to me again in a way that is alarming, I'll be calling again.
The only way to know for sure is to get checked by your doctor or at the hospital. A slow amniotic leak is really similar to normal watery discharge that occurs late in pregnancy. I had the same symptoms with my first pregnancy; at 36w my doctor checked me and told me it was just discharge, at 37w my doctor checked again and that time it was amniotic fluid.
I wouldnt race to the ER in a panic or anything, but I would call your OB and see if they can fit you in to get it checked out.
When my water broke it was more like a leak as youre describing--i thought it was discharge. But as pp said, it was a steady stream and I went through 2 pairs of pants in less than an hour while packing up last minute hospital items and the only thing that saved my third pair of pants was a super absorbent pad I put on.

Just lurking, but that's exactly how it felt for me with DD when I was leaking. I knew it wasn't urine or CM because it had a distinct smell. I called my OB, who told me to go down to L&D to be checked. It came back positive for amniotic fluid. 3 hours later I felt a huge pop and gush of fluid and my contrax began. So definitely call and be checked, just in case!

I had that problem but i was earlier on then you and it ended up just being discharge. When my water broke it was a pop and then a nasty warm gush of fluid. There was no mistaking what was happening, especially once the contractions started right after.
