Not ready for this baby!

So...she has no room, no crib (have it, but not assembled), no clothes (have, but not washed), no diapers, no NAME!!  Oh, but she is loved....that's all I've got so far:)

Re: Not ready for this baby!

  • We have the assembled crib and a name, and that's it.

You and I can be in the bad-parents club together. :)

  • Don't feel bad...you are further along than I am on certain things!  You will get there.Smile

  • Don't worry too much.  You still have time to do things.  We are just starting to paint and get our son's room ready.  His crib is bought but at my moms, we have clothes and blankets but nothing is washed.  Trust me you aren't the only one in this position.

  • I'm with ya!  But I am trying to just focus on one thing at a time so I don't get too overwhelmed.  Good luck Smile

  • I'm in the same exact position!  I've got about 2 months and I'm going to start getting everything together after my shower this weekend, just in case she decides to make an early apperance!
  • My boys will be here in less than 4 weeks and I have a crib but no bedding. Only 3 receiving blankets, like 10 outfits, 1 bib and a few hats. So really don't feel bad. At least you still have about 2 months I really have next week

  • This week I've totally kicked into "he's coming in 6 weeks and nothing is ready!" freak out mode. I felt better once I sat down and made a list of everything that absolutely had to be done before he arrived and was able to cross off a lot more than I realized. Prioritize!! I will feel better if I'm fully prepared and neatly organized, but if I'm not...my child WILL survive.

Sounds to me like she has most of what she needs right there.  The rest will get done in plenty of time.

  • I can relate!  We're in the middle of a MAJOR renovation, so the entire house is a mess.  (And, we're planning a home birth. ha!) Until we can get things finished up and cleared out, there's no room to even order a crib.

The only important item I have is a carseat, which is currently in the box since we're still using our vehicle to transport construction materials.

I'm CD'ing, so I do have some diapers ready to go, but I haven't purchased the diapers we'll need for those early meconium days.

     Love?  In abundance!

I keep reminding myself that babies really don't need much.  Most of the things we think they need are really conveniences for us.

On my computer is a list of Bare Bones Items that I want to make sure we have in place when the baby comes.  Everything else, we'll do without until we can get the house finished up.  You know what's at the top of the list?  Momma, Daddy, Love.  :)  I figure that covers almost everything, especially since we're EBFing.
