Unclaimed property is funds from old payroll checks, utility deposits, stocks,etc...most likely from a previous employer/vendor which paid the state b/c they could not reach you.
I did a search for my name yesterday and I have over $100 owed to me which I claimed! Maybe you will have luck too?
I googled searched "State name comptroller unclaimed property" for every state I lived in and it was always the first link.
Or you can check out https://www.unclaimed.org/

Re: XP: payday from unclaimed property
Me neither
This is my siggy. Love it.
Nothing for me either.
Working clicky. https://www.unclaimed.org/
I guess it depends on the state you're looking at. In my case, it was my prior address (utility deposits). However, if the company is Inc. in another state it could be their address. For ex: I work in TX but the co is Inc in DE. If my company cannot contact the person they will pay DE for unclaimed property. Clear as mud?
DH and I got over $1k from an escrow account my MIL had that we found on that site. (She past about 8 years ago). It was really nice. So, don't just search for yourself, search deceased relatives too.
