Pulling up & crawling changing sleep patterns?

Hi ladies! I haven't posted on here since I was pregnant but I hope I am welcome back for a question!  My son was sleeping about 11 hours a night and taking a nap after breakfast and a nap after lunch, then awake till he goes down around 7. All of the sudden he has been sleeping way more and having a third nap in the afternoons. Is this something others are seeing too? He wasn't cranky in the afternoons until he started all this adventuring and once I realized it was exhaustion he has been back at three naps a day since Saturday.

Is this something other moms are seeing with LO's of the same age?

Pulling up made my son sleep way worse... He didn't sleep for 2 weeks. So I can't really answer your question, but in my experience milestones usually changes sleep for the worse, but I can imagine that being more active can make your LO more sleepy.

  • I thought milestones were supposed to make them sleep way worse but i figured since they were using all new muscles maybe he is just getting over tired. I never thought I would have this complaint but the past few days have been so rough with the new nap in the schedule. I feel like he is always sleeping making it hard to run errands and get things accomplished outside of the house. Thanks for your reply!

  • my daughter has been taking longer to fall asleep, she just wants to crawl around and try to pull up in the crib.  but, once she's finally asleep she has been taking better naps.  more sleep for your DS is great, i hope he keeps it up!!

  • For us, it has taken longer to fall asleep, but once he is out, he is actually out. It seems like all this crawling makes him exhausted - we see it in his naps especially.
