Recent BFP's - Exercise?

I'm dying to get back to doing some sort of exercise. Though I'm really tired at night, I think a little bit on the elliptical each night will give me a little more energy.

What are you doing? I forgot to ask my RE the other day at my u/s if I could go back to exercising now.

I've been keeping up with the no sex/no exercise rule (IVF 2ww rules from RE) since my BFP, but I'm not sure if I'm just being overly cautious.

Re: Recent BFP's - Exercise?

  • I'm not doing any exercise because I'm too paranoid/high risk, but I think a little low impact exercise on the elliptical each not should be fine.

  • Honestly, I'd call your RE.  To have come this far. . . my only worry, I guess would be that your ovaries are still enlarged.  I swear, I can still feel mine.

I give you credit for wanting to exercise. . . the most exercise I've seen in the last 6 weeks is walking up and down the stairs and an occasional stroll around the block with my dog!  :o)  And I'm good with that!  But, I'm a lazy person though.

  • Smudges - you bring up a good point. How soon we forget the reason we weren't supposed to exercise in the first place! My RE did tell me that my ovaries were still a little enlarged. I guess I'll wait until next week. I'll try to get some walking in - hmm...maybe I'll start holiday shopping at the mall!
  • I have just been walking a lot - a couple of miles a few days a week.  I was told that that is okay and actually recommended.  I am typically a runner so it kinda sucks not being able to run, but oh well.  Basically no high-impact activities is what I was told, but ask your RE if you have concerns.
  • I've been doing some walking but my OB actually told me not to do anything that would raise my heartrate more  than 20-30 bpm.  That pretty much rules out most things.  I have another appt on Monday so I'm going to see if I can get in the gym now but I'm honestly so tired in the evenings too, the thought of going to the gym isn't very appealing!

  • I was told no excercise at all for the first 12 weeks.  I felt in my heart it would have probably been OK (I exercised up until my due date with DD) but like the pp said, after all we've been through, I thought I should follow the rules to a T!
