Sore nipples

Trying anything I can my nipples hurt!  Her latch is good although she yanks me around sometimes which I'm trying to work on.  The first couple seconds hurt really bad otherwise actually nursing is fine.  They are so sore cracked, and bleeding.  I'm using medela brand lanolin and soothies right now.  Any other advice?  How long were you sore?

A little expressed breastmilk seemed to help me a lot. Couldn't tell you why. Also air. If you can leave them exposed for awhile, that helped me a lot, too. It gets better, I promise!

Mine were sore and cracked for the first 4 days and I was almost in tears so I went out and bought Lanilosh (SO spelled that wrong) nipple cream. The cracks and sores went away in about 2-3 days after I started using it. It was my saving grace.

Try getting her latch deeper if possible, although you may already be deep enough. Did you talk to an LC yet, does your local hospital have a support group you can attend?

Nursing hurt for a longish time for me.  His latch was not good.  However, even if it was good, I still think there is some "learning time" for the nips   It hurt until about 4 weeks.  Like I would tear up when he first latched on it hurt so bad.  But then it got soooo much better

I never cracked or bled though, but I would keep up with the lanolin and keeping them dry in between feedings.

I am still sore.  DD is 3w old.  I am using Lansinoh cream.   It's thicker than the Medela cream.  It's getting a little more tolerable, but still hurts.  GL!
