Monday and already a little crazy

I am seriously exhausted. DS is in a crazy stage of being super active and not really listening, and it's getting harder to chase him and catch him and pick him up. Every morning, he wakes up by 5:30 a.m., which is starting to make him seem really sleep-deprived, but I don't know how to get him to sleep longer (he goes to bed around 7:30).

Last night, he was once again hopping around like a monkey, and rather than wait for me to help him down from the toilet, he jumped off, fell into the tub and sunk his top teeth into his bottom lip. Let me tell you, mouths bleed a ridiculous amount. I am just starting to feel really on edge, overly tired and beyond ready for DH to come back from his business trip at the end of the week. OK, I'll try to stop whining now.

  • Ugh, I'm sorry. This is the worst time for business trips, isn't it?

MH has a wedding in CA at about 36 wks and I'm dreading taking care of DD alone.

I hope your little guy's lip is ok and he relaxes a bit today for you. Can you get him to a pool or park to run off some energy with other kids?

Thankfully (and I know this sounds horrible), he's at daycare and I'm at work, so his teachers can run him ragged for me. I love him so much, and he's a lot of fun, but he is really trying my patience recently. I don't know how single parents do it.

  • is he still napping during the day? DS sleeps 10 hours at night and takes a 2 hour nap during the day.  he sleeps 8:30pm to 6:30am, so I think its pretty typical for your DS to be sleeping 10 hours if he is taking a nap.

hope his little lip feels better :( DS has been running me ragged as well!

You're probably right that he's getting enough sleep overall bc he does nap or 2 hours most days (sometimes a little longer). I wish though that if I put him to bed later he would sleep later! Mornings come around way too fast. I'm just crossing my fingers he doesn't injure anything else before this week is out.
