I'm looking for a little insight for some of you ladies who are further along in this journey than I am...
I had my D & C on June 5th, 27 days later I got my first AF. This AF was much like my AFs before my procedure. My cycle pre M/C was normally 26-28 days, I would have pretty bad cramps the day before AF arrived and the day of, and sore boobs, my bleeding would last for 3 days and would start off heavier and get lighter as the days went by. My 1st AF followed the old pattern. So late last evening, out of nowhere, I started bleeding. Brownish and not a lot (yet). I had no cramps before hand, no sore boobs, no indication it was coming at all. This morning, I have light cramps but the bleeding still seems to be slow and brownish. If this is the beginning of AF then my cyle was only 20 days!!! I have never had a 20 day cyle in the 3 years I have been tracking them! I have also never spotted between periods, not once in 20 years. I know things could be all different now that I've had my M/C, but is this normal? Should I be concerned? Thanks for humoring this M/C newbie...

Sorry for your loss *hugs*... As for saying whether its normal or not... There is no "normal" after a M/C... Some people go right back to regular cycles, others wait months for AF to show up again... Often cycles post-mc are irregular and wonky, or just like they were before... It really depends on your body...

I wouldn't be alarmed at all...like pp said, it's probably just the post-d&c and mc causing complete wonky-ness. For me, it just took a couple of months to get back on track....so, give your body a few months, and I bet it will be back to normal, for the most part. I will say my periods seem shorter with more "brownish blood" (with red, as well), than in the past.
If it starts to worry you, then just give your OB a buzz, but honestly, I bet it's just your body "re-setting" itself.
Thanks ladies...I guess it just freaked me out a little because the first AF was so "normal"! Plus I now realize that all of the BDing we have done the last few weeks has been in vain, lol! The bleeding has become heavier in the past few hours so I would def. consider it AF at this point and not spoting, plus the cramps have arrived too, fantastic!
BTW, smash...I saw your post about your siggy pic and I will miss the side ponytail and the creepy dog sweatshirt guy! Someone needs to tell me how to get those pics into my siggy...tinypics.com or something? I need a tutorial for next month's siggy challenge!

Like the other ladies said it takes some time to get a "normal" cycle back. I'm sorry your going through this.. it sucks.
Like Smash said, if it continuously happens or you are concerned about it talk to your doctor.

It's super easy to get a pic in your sig. Trust me, I'm not "computer literate" really.
After you have a pic you want to use saved to your computer:
go to www.tinypic.com. Upload your picture. For the Resize drop down menu, chose the size you would like to use. I like the Website/Email option. copy the "HTML for Websites" code.Click on your avatar, and then click on "Edit My Signature/avatar" tab. The very last box is your siggy box---paste the code there. Hit save, should work!

Same thing happened to me and it really freaked me out so I totally understand how you're feeling!
I also never spotted ever or had seen any brown discharge before my mc but this month I had a day of brown discharge followed by a day of brown blood and then full on AF red blood the next day. All this started around 5 days before AF was due to arrive.
My doctor said as the pp's have mentioned, that it can take awhile for cycles to get back to normal . But mine also told me if the brown discharge continues over several months she wants me to come in then and get checked out.

So sorry AF is messing with you.
I would say, as long as you are not bleeding throughout the month, a 20 day cycle is okay. Your is just trying to re-adjust itself as best it can. I'm sure that it will regulate soon.

Thanks again...I'm feeling better about it now since it is clearly AF, although the cramps she brought with her pretty much suck and are making me feel like crap! It just took me off guard to have another AF so quickly!
