Even though I have an office, I prefer to sit in the bullpin so I have to look around to see which desk is empty so I can set up my laptop.

5) What's the first thing you do to start your work day? If I don't get bombarded with questions from employees as soon as I walk in the door, it's get together with the previous shift's manager and get a recap of what's going on so far that day.

2. Days in the lab mostly although some of our studies are done in the wee hours of AM. I try to avoid those studies.
3. Salaried and considered on all the time. Connected by email at nights and weekends. Now that I have kids, I try to keep regular in office hours from about 8 to 5. Benefit to this is that I have flexibility.
4. I don't usually travel although people with this position typically travel to one or two conferences/year. They lost their luster with me a number of years ago and luckily my boss doesn't seem to mind.
5. Some days it is check emails, other days it is get ice and pull stuff from the freezer.

By the way, I'm new here and figured this was a good alternative to starting an intro post. My name is Cristine, 26, DH and I got married last September and got a big surprise in April right before my birthday. It'll be our first and the first grandchild on both sides. We are very excited to meet our baby boy soon
