What do you think of this name for a girl?

It's a Welsh name meaning 'great queen'. It was also the Welsh mythological goddess of fertility and the moon.

I'm tossing around the idea of sticking with Welsh names, but I'm not quite sure about this name and want some opinions.

I associate the name with the Fleetwood Mac song as well but I adore the name and love the song.

Ditto. I liked Eirlys for Seren and dh rolled his eyes at me, too close to Eirian. I still like the name.

I was actually just going through the Welsh name list on behindthename and came across Seren, Carys and Eirian. I think they're beautiful so they're going on my list of names to mention to DH!

I love Rhiannon too but agree it might be too close. What about Bethan, Dilys, or Sian as well?

I really like the meaning, though it just sounds like a last name to me. I know it's not, but that's just the feeling I get.

I dont think it's close to Rhys at all--completely different. Yes, reminds me of the Fleetwood Mac song but that's not a bad thing

I will be honest - back in the day I watched a fair amount of talk shows during summer vacation - that is the only time I have seen Rhiannon IRL. I like the song a lot though.
