sorry - we just got home last night and DD has made it difficult for me to spend time at a computer!
The surgery went well, though it ran 2 hours longer than we had originally been told because it turned out to be more difficult than the surgeon expected. The first night in the hospital was absolute hell (mostly for me) as we were in the surgical wing which meant it was 8 beds with kids from age 2 months through age 10 all of whom had just had surgery and were only separated by curtains.
The second night was better though and we got discharged late yesterday afternoon.
Me too - today was my birthday but I was just happy to be home with the family! It looks like I might be able to sleep in my own bed tonight though which would be very awesome (dd has been sleeping on me in an arm chair at both the hospital and at home for the past 3 nights.)
I'm happy to hear that everything went well with the surgery and that you DD is doing well. Happy Birthday, and I hope you get some time to yourself soon.
