Let's play "My Neighbors Suck Because"

I'll start. My neighbors suck because

1. Someone kept parking in my apartment-designated spot. They stopped for a few days, but FI texted me just now to make me aware that they had parked in my spot again. I thought that they'd finished with it, so I didn't call a tow truck like I desperately wanted to the other day. (I'll come back to this later).

2. We live in the 'family section' where all the apartments around us are filled with small children. Fine. They have toys and they leave them in the yard sometimes. Fine. It is, however, not fine that they have half a dozen riding toys spread out throughout the complex, including the sidewalk in front of our front door so we get to play 'step over a bunch of toys on the way to the mailbox'. Also not ok, being up until nearly 11:30 the other evening with all the children between the ages of 3 and 12, making noise just outside Gabe's bedroom window.

3. I watched a neighbor girl put her hand in my mailbox and take out a piece of mail. The mailman was there filling the boxes, and she pulled a piece of mail out of our box. (Background: her sister used to live in our apartment, and we get some of her mail. I agreed to put said mail on her front porch. I did not agree that she could accost the mailman and go through our mailbox.)

A memo from the management was slipped into each of our doors 2 days ago listing several of the things I mentioned above as 'no-nos'. But today there were toys everywhere again, especially on the sidewalk, and the same neighbor parked in my spot again!

 My neighbors suck because:

We are the last house on a dead end street, with a guard rail at the end. The majority of our on street parking is past our driveway towards said guard rail. I park right next to the driveway and H parks closer to the end. My neighbors have decided that they should park one of their vehicles directly across from mine (next to their driveway) and one directly between them, blocking off all of the end of street parking. It's like they have a tap on our phone because like magic, every time we call the cops, the car is moved when they get to us.

They might have a scanner, and as soon as they hear the police dispatch they go out and move it.

My neighbor sucks because while getting arrested for DUI and resisting arrest she tried to pull the "name card" and ask the arresting officer (MH's co-worker) if he knew MH and would let her go.  After the arresting officer confirmed that he did know MH and was not letting her go, she tried to pull the "but I have 2 small kids" card.  The officer told her she should have thought about that before she made these choices.

The best part though, is that this neighbor never ever ever talks to MH (or me).  she doesn't make eye contact, wave, NOTHING but wanted to use MH's name to try and get out of a DIU/resisting.

The woman across the street is a hoarder of many things, including cats. Her cats come across the street onto my property constantly, bringing with them fleas, which my dog is allergic to. Luckily we've only had to deal with 2 allergic reactions since we moved in last November. (Vet Bills are expensive!) Since we hired a pest control service in March, we haven't seen a single flea. Lets pray it stays that way for good. (Monthly pest control visits are expensive too!)  What pisses me off more than that though, is her cats spraying the bushes near my front door. They also hop our fence and spray in our back yard. IT STINKS. And I'm sure the smell will outrage me even more when I'm pregnant. Furthermore, my dog is a gross little pig because I've caught him on more than one occasion eating cat poop in my back yard. If only there was a way I could explain to him the dangers of this dirty little deed. So while I am out picking up his poop from the yard everyday, I also have pace around and pick up cat feces too so my nasty little fur baby doesn't eat it.

The man in the apt below us talks so loudly that I can hear their entire conversations. He has a deep bass voice that travels. They also used to smoke pot, but that hasn't happened lately.

ha! I lucked out too, aside from the crazy cat hoarder across the street with dozens of colorful pinwheels in her yard. All of my neighbors are in their 60's and 70's. Its very quiet and peaceful. 

ps- I just slapped my computer because I thought there was a gnat crawling around on it. And then realized it was part of your timeline.

My neighbors suck because they have FIVE full grown labs in their house/yard.  Ok, fine, it's a great breed. Only they feed off of each other, and they can get NASTY.  Like, I can't be within 5 feet of my fence or they jump up and snarl and bark and growl and show teeth.  We're only allowed FOUR full grown dogs (of any breed) in our county, and they've been reported many many times, and still have five freaking dogs barking at all hours.

Yep I have great neighbors- they keep to themselves, have trained their dogs, have well behaved teens (including their friends), oh and their parties are not big drunk festsn(like in our old neighborhood)- think more wine and cheese parties.

Because we have complained to them several times about their son pounding on their floor (our ceiling).  They in turn place a jungle gym contraption right above our living room.  So now every time he decides to jump off it, we hear a loud thud and our chandelier rattles.  We complained again and again and again and we're met with, "Oh we're try to curb the noise, he's just a rowdy boy"  Great, then don't put a effing jungle gym above our living room!

I just did the same thing.

 

My neighbor sucks because he has music blaring constantly, he practices his terrible guitar skills past midnight, and screams at sporting events on television, also late at night. Even with the AC on blast and the TV volume way up, I can still hear him. The apartment on our other side has two small children and a dog and we never hear a peep from them. 

His musical taste is kind of amusing though. He's a single guy in his late forties, a rugged construction worker type, and the other day he was totally blasting "Single Ladies".

My neighbors suck because their grass looks so much better than ours lol. But really I have neighbors down the block that let their dogs go wherever and terrorize my dog and poop in my yard. I didn't put up with that for long.

One set of neighbors suck because they have beagles outside in a pen and they bark all.the.time.

Some other neighbors suck because they have wild parties, block our driveway and are just generally condescending jerks.

We live about a mile from a major university but to rent a home in our neighborhood is very pricey and most owners don't rent to groups (so no students). Well. Our neighbors had trouble finding renters so rented to a bunch of students. They are in their pool almost every night between 3 and 4 am and they are LOUD. Our bedroom window faces their pool and it is driving me crazy being woken up by drunken cannon balls every night. DH has been gone for 10 days but when he gets home I want to go next door and chat with them. Grrrrrr.

Our neighbors suck because one has a teenaged son that smokes pot of the front stoop (right next to our living room window), in the basement (our basements were connected at one point, but the previous tenant put up a wall. There's still a small hole in our wall under the laundry sink, so his smoke AND doobies come into our side). Not to mention drugs deals being made outside of DS's room, bags of pot lying in the yard, and neighborhood children using DS's tot playground. I don't mind other kids using his outside toys (kind of expected it in the neighborhood we're in), but these kids are way too big for this thing!

Plus, last week we heard a freaking gunshot! A bunch of teenagers scattered from behind a house across the street, followed by another teenager with a freaking rifle! Cops were here in five minutes after that.

The ones to the front across the street ride four wheelers loudly back and forth, they must have a huge truck that needs to go in for work on a regular basis cause every now and then they rev it up repeatedly so loud it shakes our windows. We're pretty sure that the two strays who come to our house occasionally for food are theirs as they always come from that direction and they just don't take care of them. They are so skinny and bug infested, the poor dears.

The ones in the back have a large dog of some kind who howls something dreadfully in the middle of the night. When they first got him or moved in I'm not sure which as it was a rental house, he howled while I was at home alone in the wee hours of the morn. I jumped out of bed and ran and relocked the door. Dh had left for work a few hours before. I think I've seen too many horror movies. Cause that dog is sure gonna walk up on my porch and know how to use the doorknob, lol. I've gotten used to it now, but I never see anyone out there playing with him or giving him any attention and he has a very short chain for such a big animal.

We live in the same county as an airforce testing base and they are constantly breaking the sound barrier over our house for the new jet type thing they are testing. Sometimes its so loud I have to go out to make sure a tree didn't fall on the house and then when the second boom hits, I go in and put all my picture frames back up.

My neighbors suck because...

Most of them are awesome but they are all older couples, like go to Florida its retirement time, so we don?t really have anything in common and hang out but there are a few exceptions.

The neighbors directly across the street stop tying your poor collie out in front of your house to a tree at six in the morning so he can bark his head off and wake up my pugs and set off every other dog in the neighborhood. You have a backyard that is fenced stop tying him out front where he sees things and barks and for g-d's sake give him some freaking water its ninety degrees before eight am this time of year. Also stop having your teenagers park directly behind our driveway at night I know it is inconvenient for them to park in your incredibly long and turning driveway because you have five cars and they will block you in but either play car tag like I did as a teen or tell them to park further up so they are not forcing us to make a crazy eight point turn to get out.

The neighbor directly behind us is a nice guy overall, we pay him to cut our grass and he will bring issues to our attention in the yard that need to be addressed however he is also bipolar and likes to go off his meds. You can tell he is off his meds because all of a sudden he has really loud country music parties at his house at all hours and they like to hang in his backyard directly (no fence) facing our house. Also he will play the same horrible song on repeat for literally eight hours. He came over to the house to tell me not to be worried if there is a woman at his house as it would just be him in drag, that doesn't bother me but it did when he started critiquing my eyebrows. Last year, when he was off his meds, his exgirlfriend came banging on our door screaming that he was holding her against her will and we had to call the cops, they ended up arresting her. Last but not least he just got arrested for assaulting a guy at Wal-Mart and we found out because our lawn had not been done and was getting bad and our other neighbor came over and told us he was gone. He goes off his meds at least yearly and ends up in the mental hospital or jail every time. Lovely

Creepy!  We havent met all of our neighbors yet (we just moved in less than a month ago) but the ones we have met so far have all been great.

My neighbors suck because

1. Our houses are very close together, and so their driveway is less than four feet away from the side of our house. Which is fine, except that they work on cars/blast their radio/have giant screaming matches right next to our bedroom window at all hours of the night.

2. From my utility room, I can see four window a/c units, eight used tires, a humongous pile of 'recycling', two kiddy pools, and a ladder that I think once belonged to an inflatable above-ground pool. 

3. They sit out on their front porch all day long and stare at anyone who walks by.

4. They throw their trash in our front yard.

 

Honestly, I could probably go on forever. When their house was up for sale, I joked about buying it because it was literally the cheapest house on the market in my town, and I knew this was going to happen.

What's sad is that almost the entire rest of the block is full of nice, perfectly respectable people (and I lovelovelove the neighbors on the other side of us).

One neighbor was arrested for domestic violence towards his wife. Then she filed for divorce and a restraining order against him for her and her three daughters. Then because his parents helped them out of foreclosure a few years ago, he moved back into the house and kicked her and the girls out. Oh and the wife had just just been diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer. Then after he moved back in he found 3 adult roommates off Craigslist.

 He also shared with me that he had been in prison for a white collar crime in Texas years ago.

I've got quite the doozy!

We're in the "awesome neighbor" camp. We have an older couple that live next to us & the man gives our dogs treats every single day... so cute!

Our neighbors are awesome, I grew up around the corner so I have known most of them forever. Our neighborhood is a nice mix of old people and young families.

My neighbors suck because they let their kids (probably about 20 kids total--from different houses. I don't live next to the Duggars) run rampant and they spend hours outside screaming and cussing and drawing penises and writing "Suck my diick" etc on the sidewalk with permanent marker. They leave their trash all over the place. ALL OVER. And they throw dog shiit at my fence because they think it's from my dogs and it's not. It's from their little butthole dogs that run around at large. 

 I hate where I live. Can't wait to leave!!

OH and they used to tease my dogs under the fence. I sprayed them with the water hose and that shiit stopped. They throw toys over the fence on purpose to agitate the dogs, but the last time the kicked a soccer ball over, my border collie destroyed it so that hasn't happened since. They're really pretty awful kids. Well, they act awfully because they have no supervision or rules whatsoever.

There is only 1 house in our neighborhood that is a renter. Of course they're right next to us. The kid that lives there was trying to deal out of his house, but after complaints from numerous houses on our street he smartened up and if he still deals, it isn't at home.

The main problem is his mother. She doesn't even live there! She has no job, spends all her time at the casino (which is where she won her really expensive car), smokes from sun up till sun down, and looks like how I would imagine a meth addict.

She pulls up behind his house and leans on the horn until he comes outside, or hangs out the window and screams his name. This most often takes place between the hours of midnight and 4am of course. She speeds through our neighborhood and has nearly hit myself, DH, my dogs (on the leash!), my car as I was backing out of the garage, and numerous children.

I talked to her nicely and now I've just resorted to calling the cops for noise complaints. They already know her by name from the last place he lived. I will get this kid evicted if he can't get mommy dearest to go away!

My neighbors suck because they often have parties and leave beer bottles everywhere.  The other day I was going outside to walk my dogs and one of them was peeing on a tree. In case you're wondering, we do live in an apartment with working bathrooms, so there should be no reason to pee on a tree.

Oh wow! I could play this game all day long!

1. Neighbors directly next door suck because they smoke pot and we share an attic. It comes down into our bathroom. I wouldn't care so much except I hate the smell and I work in law enforcement. If my coat is hanging in the laundry room, my coat smells like I just smoked a fatty.   Not really acceptable for my place of employment. 

2. The same neighbors have a small devil child that doesn't listen or know how to behave. They are constantly yelling at him as he's throwing stuff , banging things on the walls, running up and down the stairs and screaming at the top of his lungs. They know he is loud and they just say "He's a kid, what can you do?".  He is up all hours of the day and night. He also leaves his toys all over the place and has ripped things off of people's cars! (He ripped off out back windshield wiper a few months ago.) 

3. Other neighbors are loud, rude, throw crazy parties, shoot fireworks into the trees/ rooftops of our building, have screaming matches in public, double park and allow their friends to take up all the parking spaces for our building, let their dogs run around off the leash and then don't pick up their excrement. Sell drugs, and now have the police of this county sniffing around (Yay!)  The list goes on and on.  

Then I have a few nosey neighbors that try and meddle in anything and everything you do. They report you for any violation they can (Hoa neighborhood) and have even resorted to creeping past sliding doors and loitering on your back porch to try and see what's going on in the house. 

This place is going way down hill. I can't wait to move. 

Oh! I forgot that the younger  neighborhood kids have taken to throwing rocks at the neighborhood cats! You don't do that kind of stuff! I reported them to the HOA, and I  told their parents. Luckily I haven't seen it again but now they have taken to throwing rocks at each other and they play near the road/ parking spaces.

I like my neighbors :shrugs: We have a standing "ladies night out" in which we gather and go to a local restaurant.

Just found out the neighbor next door (with the pot head and devil child) has a warrant out for his arrest and that's why the officers have been patrolling the neighborhood more. Nice =/

I guess that's why I haven't seen/ heard them in a few days. They're hiding from the fuzz. =P
