Stinky armpits

Okay, so I've never been a person to have body odor and I don't sweat unless I'm really working hard but over the last few days I've noticed that my normal deodorant doesn't seem to be cutting it. It's not that I'm super smelly or think others can smell me but I can notice it when I change clothes at night and such. Normally, I would wear a work shirt at least twice but everything has been going into the dirty laundry after one use.

Is this normal? Is is a pregnancy thing or am I just stinky?

Re: Stinky armpits

  • I've noticed this too, although I'm attributing it to the extreme heat/humidity we've had here (DC area) for the last few weeks.

  • Oh my gosh, it's so funny that you mention this.  Yesterday I was wearing a sleeveless dress with a cardi over it.  In the evening I took off the cardigan and I was sitting on the couch and said to DH, "I swear I put deodorant on this morning, but I totally smell like I didn't."  Haha, I was thinking maybe my hormones are just making more sensitive to the smell.  DH said he couldn't notice anything.

  • I think this is a pretty common problem with all of the extra hormones during pregnancy. I have the oposite problem that I tend to have a lot of moisture without any scent. Before gettting pregnant I would use clinical strength deoderant, now I can't use that any more obviously. I have heard from a lot of women that changing your deoderant regularly (to different brands) can make them more effective. I haven't tried it since I get mine in bulk from Costco/Sam's Club..
  • Pregnancy.

  • Glad to know its not just me.  I think you ladies are right that its changing hormones and maybe just a sensitivity to smell.
