Hello there,
I was wondering when you started to push back your DC's bedtime? And what prompted you to do it? Usually my DH puts DS to bed around 10:30-11:00 (I take the night shift, lucky me). The thing is, DS usually takes a final cat nap around 7:30-8:00 and I was wondering if maybe that's interfering with his ability to sleep longer at night. On the other hand, there's no way in hell DH can keep him up to 10:30-11 without it. Is this usually when people push back bedtime?
Re: Please help - When to put 8 wk old to bed?
Up until the time change last weekend DD always went to bed around 10-10:30pm. No matter what we did or tried to change in her schedule that is when she would go to sleep for the night.
We used the time change to move her bedtime up to 9-9:30pm. Last night though it didn't work for some reason, she was up until almost 11pm. I'm hoping she was just having a bad night and that she will go back to 9pm:)
So I don't have any 'tricks' to move their bedtime up. None of our tricks worked so we just let DD set her schedule and we follow it:)
At that age I put DD to bed when she fell asleep.
10:30-11 sounds about right.
We've just started in the last few days putting her to sleep between 8-9. I feed her at 8, then we read a book, put her in pjs and put her to bed. So far it is working out great and she sleeps until 6am! It is nice to have about an hour with DH before we have to go to bed.
I forgot this part...
What prompted me to do it is because I knew she could sleep for 9 hours straight (she's a great sleeper) and I wanted a little bit of 'baby free' time in the evenings to be with DH or do something for myself like scrapbook or read. Even if you have to get up at 1or 2am to feed your DC I highly recommend starting to put them to bed earlier.
