SO anxious about first AF post D&C

My D&C was just over 5 weeks ago, and I still haven't gotten my first AF. They told me to expect it 4 to 6 weeks out, but does that  mean 4 to 6 weeks from the procedure, or from when I stopped spotting? Anyway now I'm just having like panic attacks about it, because I am starting to feel a few cramps, and it's like I feel my "womb" and feel like I'm going to lose the baby all over again (ridiculous I know). I just want it to start so I can feel normal and stop having insane and irrational thoughts about it. Any advice/experience on this regarding how much longer I have to wait? Thanks.

There are a couple clicky polls in the TTCAL blog that gives better data on when AF returned for others.  Mine was exactly 40 days after the D&C.  I started temping right away so that if I O'd post D&C, then I'd have an idea of when to expect AF.  I know it's a little late for you to start that, but definitely look into charting.  It can help ease your mind with all this post-loss uncertainty.  FX she shows up soon!

They say 4-6 weeks after the procedure. I got mine 4 weeks after both times but I know it can take a little longer.

Try not to be too freaked out. While sometimes the first AF is heavier than normal, it can also be lighter. I honestly don't remember noticing much of a difference at all. It was just like a normal AF.

FX that she shows up soon. Waiting is so hard.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. Only I didn't have the D&C. I found out May 11th at my 10 wk appointment that I was miscarrying so they gave me the medication under my cervix to pass everything on my own (btw, my experience was terrible & I would NOT recommend anyone do it that way--had I been more educated I would have chosen to do the D&C). I bled for 6 straight weeks and just started my period last week, July 9th. They had told me the same thing, to expect it to be 4-6 wks before the next AF. But I understand your anticipation. I kept wondering when's it gonna happen.....I know it's hard but try to be patient for it. It will come soon I'm sure. And I don't know if this is because I passed the baby on my own or not, but this period was very weird (Extra crampy & hormonal). But again, I think a lot of it may have been it was mentally hard because of all that's happened the past few months. I'm ready to try again, but in some ways I'm scared too. I hope your wait is over soon and you can try again when you are ready! Lots of love!

Im so sorry your going through this. I had a d&c with my last loss and oddly enough I got AF about three in a half weeks after the procedure, I had a suction d&c and spotted for about maybe 2 weeks but it was very light. My first AF was really light too so hopefully that will be the case for you. For some reason I think it made it easier that it was light and not heavy.

When I went through my first m/c they told me I would receive AF 4 to 6 weeks from my procedure, so you should be receiving it soon. If you still don't get AF and it has been past 6 weeks since your procedure I would call your dr. I got AF 5 weeks after my D&C. And don't be surprised if AF is lighter than usual, mine didn't go back to my normal flow until my 3rd cycle. GL! ((hugs))

I'm so with you on this.  For a variety of reasons, my m/c started on 5/27 and after a couple of scares due to poor u/s or who knows what, I had a D&C on 6/24. 

The waiting is not fun at all.  

Hoping the wait is over for all of us soon!

Thanks ladies, this is helpful to know. 6 weeks will be next Monday, so I am planning on calling the Dr. if it doesn't show up by then. I'm hoping since I'm slightly crampy, that is a sign for the better as far as it coming soon.

I'm sorry for your loss. It took 5 weeks post D&C for AF to show for me. I hope she shows up sooner than later for you so you can get back to feeling somewhat normal.
