I had one of my baby showers this past Sunday and received a lot of things LO won't be needing for awhile or things I specifically didn't register for because I knew it wasn't the brand I wanted or that it wasn't safe for LO to have.So what would you do with a bunch of things that are for 3 years and up? I was thinking about bringing them back to target and getting a store credit and then getting things that were on my registry. (I hardly got anything from my registry) which is fine I do appreciate everything I did get I just don't LOVE the idea of storing some of these things for the next 2-3 years until LO can use them I'd rather have things I know she'll need right away.
I just don't want to be rude by returning items.
What are your thoughts??
Re: Need your honest opinion ladies!
No one will know the difference. Get what you need.
Just keep in mind that you may be buying that stuff again one day though...
You do exactly that. Ruder than returning is buying someone a bunch of crap for 3+ year old kids when they're having their first baby. WTF?
If Target won't take it, Walmart takes almost anything. You could at least get diapers and necessities that way.
(read it. you know you want to.)

while i'm all for returning things so that you can get more immediately useful stuff, my concern with returning stuff is always whether the gifter will be around your house and wonder where their gift is?
personally, i'd probably be exchanging things because we have little space to store stuff. but if i had the space, i'd probably keep it. you'll be happy to have the stuff later (unless it's not safe... that's a whole different story)
Nobody will know if you return things.
however, Target only allows $70.00 per person per year in returns without receipts. So, you may not be able to return that much and get store credit.
