I was told at my a/s that I have an anterior placenta this pregnancy. I know there is a chance that it could move... Are any of you having an ultrasound to see if it has moved??
I have one, and my MW said that as long as it wasn?t too low (which it isn?t) then not to worry.
I think (someone correct me if I?m wrong) that it can become problematic if you have a c-section as they need to make sure they?re not cutting into the placenta.
ETA: no U/S to see if it's moved since the 19week scan.
This is my second time with an anterior placenta and it was never an issue nor was it ever discussed to see if it moved. the only time it came up was when discussing movement - how it may prohibit feeling some of the jabs!

my understanding is that while an anterior placenta could shift a little from side to side (and will likely move up some), it won't move to posterior. it's not an issue though unless it's lower and you need a c-section. then my doc said they'll just do an ultrasound-guided c-section
i did have an ultrasound to make sure my placenta moved, but only because it was low-lying, not because it was anterior. it had (was .9cm from cervix, is now over 5cm)
AP does not make a huge difference in general. For a previous CS mom they will check to make sure there is no placenta accreta/increta but that only happens if the AP is low and near the previous scar.
There is a very slight increase in OP presentation with AP but not enough to worry about it.
I've had an u/s every 4 weeks and it's only annoying bc we can never get good 3D images of DS. It doesn't move, but it grows with the pregnancy. So it appears to move up but it's really your uterus growing.
I also have an a/p, and the only reason I got another u/s was to see if it moved up. It was borderline low at my a/s, and they would have checked it whether it was posterior or anterior.
I had an AP last time and have one this time. As long as it doesnt drop too low to the opening of your cervix you are fine. There can be complications if your placenta comes out first or prevents the baby's decent. When they do ultrasounds they measure it, if your doc said you are fine I wouldnt worry about it. I havent heard about it impacting Csecs but I havent looked into it.

This is what my dr. told me.
I will probably be having a RCS but have not had/will not have any u/s just to see where my placenta is, as it wasn't low to begin with.
I had one with DS and they did not do any u/s guidance with my c/s. I also have an AP this time and it is no concern at all, even with a repeat c/s scheduled. As pp stated, placenta previa would be the issue.

They will check if it is placenta previa.

That. And there's no issue with my scheduled c/s, either.
