I've seen other posts about homemade food and people bringing it to daycare. I'm not sure of everyone's situations though. We're at a Center and I'm not allowed to bring my homemade food in. I haven't figured out the exact reason yet (I still need to talk to the director), but his teacher alluded to the fact that it's a State Regulation thing. To me, this is no different than bringing in pumped breast milk.
Has anyone else run into this? I'm probably uptight, but I don't like the food they provide so I've been buying organic to bring with him so he can eat during the day. Since I'm still introducing single foods, this is pretty tough. For example, there is no avocado or zucchini in packaged foods, and these are two that he's already had and liked. He's been having only peas for lunch for 2 weeks and if I were him, I'd be sick of it Tonight we try green beans so that will give him another option...
Re: Homemade Food at Daycare?
We bring homemade baby food to DC and there is no problem. It's refridgerated so I'm not sure why your DC has a problem with it. I would definitely talk to the director to find out why.
