I feel like I have tried everything. Swaddle, no swaddle. Crib, swing, white noise, rocking. Dd will not sleep longer than 20 min at a time during the day. The longest stretch is prbably half an hr. When she wakes, I try to shush or rock her back to sleep but she is wide awake. But I feel like she is basically tired all day long, and we spend the entire day trying to go back down for a nap. I look for signs that he is tired and put her down right away...it just doesn't seem to work. Anyone else going through this? Any suggestions??

Re: XP from may 2012: catnapper - help!
How many naps a day does he take and how long is his awake time between naps?
My baby is a catnapper too. I read on Troublesome Tots that some babies are just catnappers and they will grow out of it between 2 and 6 months. Weissbluth says the morning nap will form first between 3 and 4 months, and later the afternoon nap. If by 6 months they are still catnapping, the most likely culprit is that they are not falling asleep on their own... which is a whole other issue!
And also, I need to stop doing so much baby research.
