I remembered last night that my husband and I drove through a small town called "Tallulah". We both agreed that we liked the name. It is native american for "leaping water' which I think is neat.
I read that alot people seem to think it doesn't "age" well. For an example Tallulah is cute for a girl but for a woman in her 30s maybe not so appropiate.
What does everyone think?
I still like Dahlia & Rosalia for girls names as well.
Re: Another name
It's my coworker's dog's name, so that's all I can think about. Although Tally would be a cute nn.

First of all, "Native American" is not one monolithic language or people group. Saying a word is "Native American" for something would be like saying a word is "European" for something, instead of specifying "French" or "Italian". Tallulah is specifically a Choctaw word, for the record.
Demi Moore has a Tallulah, and there was an actress back in the day named Tallulah Bankhead. I like the name OK, but it sounds very very Southern to me, which may or may not be what you're going for.
Etta Jane and Claire Elaine are here! Born March 28, 2012.

Tallulah has a lot of fans on this board but I am not one of them. It sounds so hick-ish to me.
I like Dahlia so much more!
Tallulah is pretty popular i think it's cute!
Thanks for everyone's input. As for as the comment about saying Native American,I know that is a generalization but that is what one website classified it as. Yes I do recall it is specifically from the tribe Choctaw & the bit about the actress & yes of course Tallulah, daughter of Demi Moore.
I am part Cherokee. I typically tell people Native American though then specify if they ask. (I have olive skin so people mistake me for different nationalities).
I live in the South so Tallulah being a Southern name is no problem.
The only middle name I can come up with for Tallulah is Mae. I like the nickname Tally.
Do you have a filter @ PhilisWife07?
I think naming a chilld uncreative, humm drum names is goofy. Of course I wouldn't typically say that to anyone if they were asking my opinion. I know the name thing is mostly based on preference and not everyone has the same taste.
I don't see a problem with Tallulah aging. It seems more grown up than baby like anyway.
It's nice, but too Southern for me.
