Has anyone ordered from this website or are familiar with them? I have gotten a promo/gift card when I order from Destination Maternity and just wondering if they are any good. Thanks!
These are junk. They are always "free, just pay shipping" Honestly, the quality is so poor, I wouldn't even pay $10 for shipping a piece of fabric.
Agreed! Wish I knew that before I spent the money on the "free, just pay shipping" sling. It's cheapy and the fabric is rough. I could probably sew together something better than that, and I definitely am not a seamstress by any stretch of the imagination.
I have a used one that a friend gave me, which I won't be using. I hate to sound ungrateful, but in my case it's not actually safe. I put it on, and it felt like I just had a fabric sash around my shoulder. I went to look up how on earth it works (I was expecting it to be like the Moby wrap: you know, something you twist and turn and all that jazz) and it literally is just "fold it in half, put baby in the fold". Now, for what I said about it not being safe 'in my case': you have to order it in the right size for your body, and my friend is a fair bit larger than me. The sling she gave me falls right off me. I wouldn't even feel comfortable testing it out with my kitten in it, let alone carrying my baby in it. I'm sure it worked great for her, because she wouldn't give me something that was unsafe. What I'm saying is, you have to be careful: there's no way of adjusting it or making it any tighter. If it's too big, it's just going to fall off you.
If you look at their website - https://www.sevenslings.com - they have instructions and sizing information. You'll see what I mean about 'fold it and stick baby in it' from the instructions, and the sizing chart... Well. Depending on whether I go by shirt size, weight, or shoulder-to-hip measurement (which is what they recommend, but it's obviously asking for your pre-pregnancy size), I either need a size 4, or a size 5, or a size so-big-they-don't-even-have-it.
I only used it when my daughter was older and would use it on my hip to help carry her for long periods of time, and didn't want to break out the baby bjorn. It's really not worth it IMHO.
PASS on that! I never used mine, it seemed unstable and easier to make your own.... I ended up with the Moby wrap instead, much better! Even bought a Moby for my cousin... (she ended up getting 4 at her shower!!)
That being said... I paid for the shipping on the "free" nursing cover and actually liked it! I'd buy another of those (and I am if this baby is a boy)
Also, I ran into a mom @ the coffee shop with the Carseat Canopy Caboodle set and it looked great, she loved hers and we both had the Baby Trend Flex Loc and it fit hers well, So if this is a boy I will be purchasing that as well
I am an exception, from what I understand, but I have one and love it! I would NOT use it with a newborn, but found it extremely useful from about 6m to a year, when DS couldn't walk yet but liked to be carried. I only used it with the hip carry. The others seemed ridiculous, uncomfortable and possibly unsafe. But I loved it for the hip carry because it was small enough to keep it constantly in the diaper bag and just whip it out if I needed it.
It was great, for example, when walking from a distant parking lot spot to somewhere that I wouldn't want the stroller. I also used it when taking DS to college football games and such, where I didn't want to schlep the whole Ergo but he was a bit heavy to carry all the way to our seats.

Just my (lengthy) input on the matter.
This exactly. There is also a nursing cover that has the same, constant "deal" and I have heard it isn't any good.
