IVF confusion. can you help me?

I'm really confused about the IVF timeline and what happens in the prior cycle to IVF. i'm on CD4 now and started Femera again, so we're just doing regular medicated/TI this cycle. the plan is to do IVF next month (if not PG this time).

what's confusing me is that i'm reading online that the IVF cycle starts with taking BCP the month before. so... how am i supposed to TI this cycle?!

is any of this making sense?

ETA: so far, after all testing, i'm still considered unexplained IF. i'm O'ing each cycle, but on the later side (meds have brought it down to CD18/19 so far).

I would call your RE nurse to verfiy this - but it is either that you will not be taking birth control before you start - not everyone does.  Or they mean that the 'start' of you next cycle will be when you take the birth control.

You dont have to do birth control pills, you just need to start your meds when your levels are baseline.

I'm in the midst of my first IVF and had the same confusion before I started. I did not use BCP's. I went in for my baseline ultra sound on day 2 and started everything then!

Same for me.  With the "short" IVF protocol, you don't need to start any meds before AF starts your IVF cycle.  Even with that, some women do BC the cycle before, but I am not.  With the longer protocol, you start Lupron before AF, then start stims.  Your RE would be able to tell you which plan you'll be using.
