I can't wait until this book comes out for DS's year- he was born on the opening day of the Olympics, we elected the first African-American President....

It's a pretty great day to be an American, whether the people you wanted to win won or not- whether you think it was the right history, history was made tonight and that should always be exciting.

    I know!

    DD was born on the day the Phillies won the pennant -- which is not exciting for everyone -- and DH and I were saying we should have had my parents get us a paper so we could collect things to should her when she grows up.

    What a great year to be born.

    I know that this doesn't solve every race issue in our country, but I am just so glad that our babies will grow up in a world where national politics are not a closed door to anyone based on what genitalia they have or what color their skin is...
