Indie?

DH is in LOVE with the name Indie. Her MN has to be Ann (6 generations of Ann's as MN in my family). So, Indie Ann Lastname.... bad? yes? It sounds like Indiana, right?

Thank you! I just showed DH this because he thought I was being ridiculous. I was like "SEE DH, a stranger things its horrible too!"

It does sound like Indiana, I would suggest Indiana/India with the NN Indie if you weren't set on the MN Ann.

I don't think any of those names works with the MN Ann.

I actually know someone who named their son Indi (no e). I think it's intended to mean independent, but I'm not sure. The boy is very cute, but unless he's going to be a musician I don't think the name will grow well.

I think it's cute!   She wouldn't say Indie Ann unless someone asked her what her full name was.  Even then, I think it's endearing.  But then, I like Indiana Jones movies...

Before I saw Ann I was thinking Independence. Then I thought Indianapolis or Indiana. I don't think Indie is a bad name, I think it is pretty. But I don't know if I would name her Indie Ann just like that.

The fact that you don't like it should be the end of the discussion about it right there.

And yeah it's bad. Like really bad. It makes me think of Indiana Jones who, while a positive association for me, is a man and also Indiana was really the dog's name.
