because I know you have all been dying to know.
I went through and picked some of the things that you all suggested that I thought would work best for me. This is what I have established so far.
Me + A foundation brush = hilarious. I will have to keep practicing this tecnique I think. It was ugly folks. Now, once I master this I plan on getting a better foundation to try.
I bought blush! For the first time, ever. AND I have been wearing it. It's amazing what a difference it make when you use the right color & put it on the right way.
Eyelash curler thingy - HA. I bought one, and I have been using it, but I really don't notice much of a difference. I have pretty full lashes to begin with, maybe that's it? I have also learned that I need to practice more on eyeliner skills. This also was a FAIL for me. I looked ridiculous ha-ha
Johnson's baby oil gel - I DONT like this for me. I hate the way I feel after I use this. I am not sure I will keep trying this one.
I have a few more things I want to try like the Bumble & Bumble shampoo & conditioners, but I am waiting until I need S&C before I buy those.
Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for sharing those with me, I actually DID listen! ha-ha
Re: F/U To Beauty Tips & Tricks
This is me too! I feel like I look alien if I don't curl my lashes!!
I take it one step further...I wait to curl my lashes until I'm drying my hair and I heat it up a little bit first so the curl holds. I have a lot of eye lashes and think they look better curled.
Also, I hate baby oil, and most oil like products because of how my skin feels after application. The best moisturizer I've found during pregnancy is the up and up cocoa butter from target that's comparable to the vasaline brand. The Up and Up is thicker and smells more chocolatey. It's glorious.

In our bringing home baby class at the hospital last week they recommended using coconut oil or olive oil on your baby instead of baby lotion for the first 6 months because it's more moisturizing and more like their natural oils....have you heard of this?
I made my own deoderant a few years ago using coconut oil, baking soda and essential oil...it didn't end well. I ended up losing the top layer of my skin on my underarms. I've since been terrified of using coconut oil.

Nope. I shared how I use the Johnsons baby oil gel with aloe on my legs after I shave 'cause I have such dry skin and I get bad razor burn.

I've heard of using olive oil over baby oil (not lotion) because they say that the baby oil is harsh and a product of the petroleum industry. I've never heard anything bad about baby LOTION though...
THis is pretty dangerous for your eyes. There are horror stories about people damaging the skin on their eyelids with this method.
I used/use coconut oil on DD when she is getting over a diaper rash (after the creams, before it's totally healed) and love it. Plus, it smells like the beach in the middle of winter.
Oh man... I don't plan on buying any after they show me how to use it, I just want a more experienced opinion on how to apply the makeup. I've finally figured out eyeshadow and mascara, but for the life of me I cannot apply blush, bronzer, foundation, eyeliner, etc.
Holy. Sh!t.
Haha like roller brushing your lashes. Awesome.
Ha, exactly. Before my life in education, I spent all of high school & college, as well as 3 years afterwards working at a hair salon, and then working for an Aveda Institute. I learned all kinds of crazy make up tips and hair tips and tricks.
FYI, once during a bad thunderstorm my Mom was getting ready for work and our big golden retreiver ran into the bathroom to hide in the tub, knocked my Mom who was curling her eye lashes and she ripped them all out. Talk about a nightmare. It is not a tool for the slight of hand, or the unsteady.

Whoa...what happened to your underarms??? I don't see how coconut oil could do that.
I've used straight coconut oil as deodorant (when I was eating Paleo and less BO...no joke) and had no problems with it.
DS has super sensitive skin (we have to use special soaps/lotions on him and still have a lot of trouble). When he is having a particularly bad time, I use coconut oil on him. I've also used coconut oil for diaper rashes (with success).
OP: I've used coconut oil on my face (and legs) as a moisturizer and really...if you are interested in the concept of the baby oil thing, give it a try. In a few minutes it really doesn't feel oily anymore.
Can you tell coconut oil is one of my "fixes everything" things? It's almost as awesome as breastmilk.
For a little TMI, I have vulvodynia which causes horrible pain/burning/itching/dryness. Pregnancy makes it all worse. I use lidocaine daily, but that just causes more dryness, so I use coconut oil (on my labia) on top of the lidocaine to keep the dryness from being a problem.
It was horrible!!!! Funny now, horrible at the time. My doc couldn't figure out if it was an allergy to the coconut oil or to the essential oil, so I've never used either of them again. My skin peeled off in sheets and I had to use a steroid cream for 2 weeks. I've always been one that uses pure cocoa butter, so I figured coconut would be a great alternative. I'm terrified to try it again!

I tried a few tips from the website someone gave, and I love the results!
- I bought sephora's highlighting under-eye concealer (not sure about the exact name) and I love it.
- I also started contouring again and I forgot how purrrrty it makes me look
ETA: Instead of going to a Macy's counter, I'd try Sephora. They do not pressure you as much as Macy's and they are much more sensitive to your price point. You will also get unbiased opinions on different brands.

I would think it is more likely to be the essential oils. Any chance you used too much? I hate using essential oils in things where amount really matters, because I tend to mess up. Do you consume coconut in any way? You wouldn't be allergic to the oil without being allergic to it as a food as well. I can understand you being hesitant, though!
Right after I started using it as diaper rash cream, DS's allergist had me remove a lot of foods from his diet, including coconut, to check for reaction. I felt so bad about possibly using an allergen on DS! He turned out not to be allergic to coconut, though, so I slather it on him as needed now.
Some of the make up brands make you purchase at least 2 items in order to get the lesson. Others will just do it if they have time, so you would definitely do better if you go during the week during normal business hours. Clinique will do it for free. But you can also ask them to do one side of your face and then have you try it on the other side so you can duplicate what they did and tell you what you did wrong in order to fix it so whatever you spend doesn't end up a complete waste
