safe plastic?

I know plastic is not safe, but i want to know what i am looking for. everything says BPA free now. we have a sophie, but we got some teethers that say they are filled with purified water and are BPA Free. I feel like they are still trash bound, but why? what else should i be looking for?

it had a safety code of ASTM F-963  but I don't know what to make of that. thanks ladies!!

Re: safe plastic?

  • Know what you mean...we try to avoid plastic everywhere we can (wood, stainless steal, fabric, glass) and use silicone, latex rubber or BPA-free everywhere else.

Seems to be the best option I can find. I try to feel better about their limited exposure that way, because I feel like even with those other plastic options I can taste/smell chemical flavors (like in cooking silicones I've tried in the past) so I always am left wondering what other chemicals they are being exposed to that we'll find out later are harmful :
