I don't care what side you're on, you can't deny that it's pretty *** awesome to see this when not so long ago there was a civil rights war raging in this country.

DAMNIT!  I actually am!  I may live to see my niece as President!  *One can only hope, right*  My sister still, in 2008, has problems with people who make comments that she married someone black and her daughter looks so much like her daddy.....

Everytime I think of it I tear up.  Either way I'm pretty sure I'm going to be crying by the end of the night.

Unfortunately, the civil rights war still isn't over. The only difference is that now it's not about color; it's about sexual preference. Sorry, I'm in CA where the ignorant voters are trying to take away same-sex couples' rights to marry. I'm shocked that so many are unwilling to see this as a civil rights issue. On the note of Obama, I completely agree that it's time color didn't matter! I wish his grandmother had lived just a few more days so she could share this with him in body, not just spirit.

Yeah, I totally agree with you there.  It's a whole new battle.  But this offers some hope.

And I agree on the gay marriage bullcrap. I hate people sometimes.
