Minivans question...do you have one?

That's not the question, but obviously I want to hear if you do.

My Jeep died today.  Fantastically and with $5k worth of fix its on a 238k mile car.  So since I'm forced to pick a new car now it's going to be a minivan with #2 on the way.

Which ones do you have/like?  Why?  Right now it's between a Honda Oddessy and a Chrysler Town and Country.  Thoughts?

The Town and Country does not have the 8th seat in their standard model.  This was a big factor in us saying no.  The way the car seat sits in the 3rd row only 1 adult can sit back there.  This was a huge turn off for us.

We narrowed it down to the Toyota and Honda that have the 8th seat.  There were some minor differences in the two, but overall are very similar.  The biggest difference is the toyota has a rear back up camera standard.  We got the toyota.

We have a Dodge Grand Carsvan and love it. It is a step down from the Town and Country. The one thing I don't like about the new Odysseys is that you actually have to remove the middle seats instead of just fold them down like in the Town and Country and Dodge Gand Caravan.

We have the Town and Country.  I wanted an 8th seat but I wanted to stay in my budget more.  One of my friends has an Odyssey and I like that you can configure the 2nd row to have the aisle in the middle or on the side - that's nice if you have to climb into the 3rd row to buckle in a toddler.

We just bought a minivan in the last 2 weeks. Babies haven't arrived yet, but same deal, hubby's car was going to need a lot of work, wasn't worth putting the money in. Anyways, we got a Dodge Grand Caravan as well and already love it. My husband really wanted the stow 'n go seats (makes for extra storage space when the seats are up too). Our friend who works for cars.com recommended the DGC and the 2 you mentioned. My friends have the Odyssey, and they like that 8th seat option (that's the seat that can be added between the bucket seats to made the middle row a bench, right?). That way on longer trips an adult can sit between the kids if they're getting antsy.

We just got the town and country and love it!  We love the stow and go!

We got an 04 Ford Freestar a few months ago.  I Love it and theres alot of them out there with good deals and low miles plus our rear seat folds flat for bigger items.

We have a 2008 Honda Odyssey and I love it. We have the model with the back-up camera which is really nice. A friend of ours just got a new Toyota Sienna because of a deal Toyota was running (0% APR for 60 months or something crazy like that). GL!

Hubby and I just bought a 2006 Honda Odyssey Touring. We looked at used Siennas as well, but the Odyssey works better for triplets.

 We like the back-up camera and all the power-sliding doors/hatch. 

 It got about 22mpg on the 1000mi round trip we took last weekend.

I had a Dodge Caravan for 10 years and i loved it! very few problems through the years and so easy to load stuff in! i miss it.:(

We had a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan and while I loved it for it's storage capacity and comfy chairs I will never buy one again. The first problem happened as we were driving it home for the first time. The air conditioning in the back wasn't working. Then the automatic sliding door broke ($400). Then the other one($400 - we never fixed it). Then we had to have the engine rebuilt ($5000), then there was a problem with the trans ($1000 - Didn't fix that either) We took it back to the dealer we got it from and traded it in. Total POS.

I'd go for the Honda or a Toyota. Good luck!

i have the town and country and love it.  we looked at the oddessy but i liked the t&c better plus it was a better price and i wanted to but american.
