Dr Brown's bottle users

When did you switch to level 2 nipples?  My DS seemed to be working so hard with level 1 and he was also falling asleep when taking the bottle.  So I switched to level 2 last week.  He is about 2 and a half months old.  Now it seems as if he gulps down 4-5 ounces in about 10 min.  I have to keep stopping him during it, but he gets all mad when I do that.

Re: Dr Brown's bottle users

  • If I remember correctly, we switched at about 2.5 months as well.   I'm now wondering if we need to up it to Level 3!

  • I just switched yesterday...at almost 4 months. ?DS eats like a little piggy - there was no need to switch earlier as he was eating without issue (8oz bottles at 10 weeks). ?He currently eats 4-5 8oz bottles a day. ?

He's making slurping sounds with level 2...lol, I think he's still adjusting to getting the formula faster!?

  • DS chows his 8 ounce bottles in 15 minutes; 10 doesn't seem that bad for half as much. Why do you have to stop him?

  • I haven't switched, but my DD is not quite 2 months yet.  She also spits up alot sometimes and gets gassy so I'm going to wait a couple more weeks.

  • I still have not switched and she is 4 months old...guess she is used to it since she nurses during the night and bottles during the day when I work.

  • GRKaters - I stop him a few times cause I am afraid he is going to gulp it all down and its not even going to register in his head that he ate enough, I just try to stretch the feeding out to at least 20min otherwise he would def be done in 10.  Maybe that is just my crazy thinking.  But also I am afraid if he eats too much too quick he will spit up, have had that happen
