2nd Trimester

At what point did you notice your own bump?

I know that it is normal not to show until 20-ish weeks, but at what point were you able to tell that your belly was changing?

I'm nervous because there is no change with me. I thought there would be some hint of growth, if only noticeable to myself.

  • My belly sort of popped last week, around 16 weeks.

  • Now? I noticed it yesterday and DH took a photo which confirmed it.

I measured my waist (or lack thereof) and it's 5 inches bigger than pre-pregnancy already.

  • I had no bump at all and then all of a sudden I woke up around 20 and it was there.  It was like magic.  It is different for every woman, but I think it is normal.  Especially if the doctor hasn't mentioned anything to you.

Be patient!  It will come in time!

I noticed a change early... 8 weeks or so (I had a very flat stomach before).  However if someone else were to see me on the street now (15w5d) they would just think I need to cut back on the drinks and do some sit-ups.....

  • Early, about 9 weeks.  Now I feel like a gigantour!
  • Your uterus is only just barely popping out from behind your pelvic bone now. I didn't really know a major change until I was 19-20 weeks. It'll be here soon enough!

  • The shape of my stomach gradually changed. I could really tell the difference in shape by 16 weeks. I didn't really get a  bump until 20 weeks.

  • I am FTM so for me, probably around 18 weeks I started to notice my shirts not really fitting well any more.  I thought maybe I popped around 20 weeks.

Don't be nervous - you will get there!

  • Around 13.5 weeks. It seems so early compared to most. I don't know... I was very thin when I got pregnant (5'8, BMI 19 so almost underweight).  Someone here also said that if you had abdominal surgery (which I did), you might show earlier.

  • 16 weeks was when it was obvious to me, but 22-23 weeks is when other people started commenting about me popping.

  • I can totally tell my boobs are bigger and my belly is softer than usual from bloating. It's not a bump but I can tell things are changing - I'm probably 6 weeks from popping.
  • 14 weeks. Hubs noticed too--kinda freaky! I'm a FTM, so I'm surprised I'm showing "so soon" according to everything I've read on TB, but it's definitely baby and not bloat. I'm a petite person, though. And I'm not growing out of my t-shirts yet, but my lower abdomen cannot be sucked in.

  • I popped at 13 weeks. I am plus size so I popped differently. My lower abdomen got really hard and my upper abdomen (where all the fat and interal organs got pushed) sticks out like a 6 month pregnant woman. I am also having twins though.

I can easily tell and people that know me well can tell.  Strangers just think i am super-fat.
