Has anyone used Alpharetta Women's Specialist?

Hello!

I'm TTC baby #4 and am wanting a different experience than I've had previously. My other 3 babies were born at Kennestone (as was I), but recently, I've been very disappointed with their lack of care. It seems like now you are just a number.

My husband works in Alpharetta and I'd like to deliver at North Fulton Hospital (I don't want to go all the way to Northside). I found this practice and it seems like exactly what I was looking for. My pregnancy won't be covered under my insurance, so I'm hoping that they will be willing to work with me. I've heard of practices/hospitals giving you a percentage off if you are paying with no insurance.

Just curious if anyone knew anything about it.

Thanks and Happy 4th of July!

I used AWS and was happy there.  I LOVED North Fulton Hosp - the staff there was wonderful.  The only thing -- there are three midwives that deliver at North Fulton on rotation.  AWS has one, Janet, she's great.  There's also Kim from Isis OB/GYN and Sherry (not sure where she's at or if she's still there...she did our delivery and was great).    So no matter which practice you go to, you are pretty likely to have a different MW do the delivery, but in the moment it really didn't matter to me.    I'm not sure how it works if you use Dr. Scineaux instead of the midwives though.

They have a "meet the midwives" meeting every month or so.   It's kind of an informational thing where they discuss different topics,  go here to check it out:

If you're interested in an unmedicated birth or a waterbirth, this place is very supportive!   They're ok if you want to do meds, its just those two things are their specialties.

I think all 3 are still there, they have formed a group called Atlanta M1dwifery. I have to say that from my personal experience, and others I know, I would not recommend J. At all. If you want some info I could visit the ICAN Atlanta board.

If you are willing to drive a little further I totally recommend Intown Midwifery.

Does Dr. Scineaux deliver? Or is it just difficult to get her on rotation? I live in Woodstock, so getting to N. Fulton is already a bit of a drive for me. I'm excited for a new experience!

    Thanks for the info!
