Is this the farm one?  Our farm M and D puzzle is possessed too.  It was the worst first birthday gift ever.  It made sounds when the pieces were nowhere near it. It would moo at me when we were all even on another level.  I had a breakdown one day and ripped out the batteries.  I have a high tolerance for toys that make noise, and that one did me in. If you want revenge on someone, buy them that damn puzzle.

LOL, I haven't had this problem thankfully since we dont own this one but anyone have any experience with the danged Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Puppy (aka Satan Possessed Puppy).  That thing would randomly start talking in the middle of the night saying stuff like "I love you! Come play with me! Peekaboo I see you!"  Creepy azz toy finally bit the dust and is going to disappear when we move in a few weeks.  That's another good one for anyone who hates someone and needs a good baby gift for them.

LOL!  We have that puppy and it also randomly talks to us too.  It doesn't do it as much as the puzzle, so it is allowed to live another day.

Take all the pieces out, put them in a little box or bag, and put the puzzle upside down on a shelf so all the sensors are in the dark. They?ll all go off once when you set it down but it will be quiet until you move it.

Or kill it with a hammer.

And I just read this - just as the fucken battery was FINALLY dying on the dog that MIL bought for my son 5 years ago she went and bought my daughter a brand new one. I had to hide my reaction.

I was lurking and had to say SHIIIT I just bought that puzzle for part of a friend's baby shower gift.  She has a farm theme nursery.  Is she going to be calling me in the middle of the night when it wakes her newborn up?  Poop.

Also, the dog also lives in our car.  I always forget it's there until I turn a corner.  "Peek-a-boo!  I see you!"  And then of course I shudder.

I'm also hoping that she doesn't open it and try it out first.  ...cause that's totally what I did with the vehicle puzzle I bought for J at the same time I bought the farm puzzle.  It seems to be behaving itself, though.  Is this only a problem with the farm puzzle?

I gave mine away. I hated that effing thing. I successfully put electrician's tape over the sensors though and that helped. Those puzzles are awful.

I got two of them for dd's first birthday. I opened them up and put batteries in but they both didn't work!. Called my sister and asked if she had the receipt, said it was broken and "it can't be me I'm smart enough to figure out a damn kids puzzle". It was me....I didn't realize they were light activated and I had the curtains closed so it was dim. Now they work and I have to keep them in a bag so they don't drive me nuts.

 

Also we have the puppy that stays in the car. And the damn laugh and learn kitchen is also possessed!

I put the batteries in for about 2 mins.  Puzzle drove me crazy, and the batteries were removed.
