As always if you are new to this group or see that your "line" on the list is missing info, please let me know the info so that I can update it! I did highlight a few people I haven't heard from. If you are highlighted, I'm thinking about you! Update me!

I apologize for my lateness again lol, I was out of town ALL day yesterday at a family cookout!  Because this is late, I'm going to start the Labor Buddy call/process next week, not this week like I originally planned...so please lookout for that when the time comes!

How is everyone doing this week?  

 I'm doing pretty good this week. Feeling baby more which is nice  Had a scare with some contraction like pains yesterday at a cookout but I sat and chugged some water with my feet up for a while and stayed out of the heat. The doppler came out and all was good, thank God!

Any important updates/new appts/etc?

 We finally revealed to our family, we are having a GIRL! My next appt is on July 5th with a Dr that I haven't met yet...though she has been the one ordering all my bloodwork and monitoring me so I am pumped to shake her hand.

Prayer/Positive Thought Requests?

Just that baby continues to do well and that the appt is succesful!

How is everyone doing this week? Doing well, just got back from a 10-day trip to Ireland. It was wonderful, though I'm still getting over the jet lag

Any important updates/new appts/etc? Had a bit of a freakout before I left for my trip because I was feeling lots of pressure and lower back pain when I was standing. Ended up getting a checkup at the doctor as well as an u/s to check my cervix, but everything looked fine. (Ah, the PgAL life). I'm glad I got it checked, though, because otherwise I would've been stressed on the trip.

I go back for my appt in a couple weeks. I had to postpone it because of our vacation. I kind of want to see if I can go in today to hear the heartbeat before we leave, though.

How is everyone doing this week?  

I am doing ok.  I took a bad fall yesterday and haven't felt very good since.  I banged my head and hurt my hand bracing my fall.  I didn't hit my bump at all and so far no bleeding (I have a large SCH) or cramping, but I am super sore in my pelvis and lower abdomen. I have listened to peanut with the doppler a bunch of times and baby seems to be fine.  Three of my team members are on vacation this week at work, so I had to come in, otherwise, I'd be at home in bed.  Walking is super painful.  I'm taking tylenol every 4hrs for pain and it just barely takes the edge off. 

Any important updates/new appts/etc?

I have my a/s on Thursday at 3pm.  I can't wait.  I am very excited to learn if Carter is going to have a baby brother or sister.  Also, in light of the fall, I am really looking forward to seeing that baby is really ok in there and find out if my SCH has shrunk any in the last 3 weeks.

Prayers that I won't start bleeding or crampnig from the fall and that baby co-operates on Thursday so we can find out its sex.

GTKY:  Feel free to share a favorite Party/Cookout Recipe! (EXTRA points for those that include pics ) 

I usually bring either a pasta salad or layered nacho dip to any pot luck type party. 

Pasta salad has pasta, chopped red onion, chopped red/yellow or orange pepper, grated carrot, sliced green olives, mashed hard boiled eggs and grated cheese in it.  Dressing is a gob of miracle whip, some french salad dressing and the secret ingredient is some juice from the olive jar.  I don't measure anything, so that is the best recipe I can give.

Layered nacho dip is:  Layered in a 9x11 pan

1st layer is 500g sour cream, whipped with a block of softened cream cheese (can you light or non fat, or substitute greek yogurt for sour cream).  If you want to spice it up a bit, you can add a package of taco seasoning to this mixture.

2nd layer - chunky salsa (I use a whole medium sized jar)

3rd layer - grated mozz and cheddar or monteray jack cheese.

4th layer - chopped roma tomatoes

5th layer - sliced green olives.

6th layer - chopped green onion

Serve with Pita chips, nacho chips, etc.

How is everyone doing this week?  I am feeling pretty good! My blood pressure has been creeping up a little bit over the last week (I monitor at home), so I have been trying to take it extra easy. The boys are moving around a lot now and it is just the most amazing feeling. I feel so lucky!

Any important updates/new appts/etc? My next appointment is next Monday, and I can't wait to see how big they are!

Prayer/Positive Thought Requests? That my blood pressure stays down. Pre-e scares the pants off me.

The recipe calls for orange marmalade, but I have used raspberry jelly and apple jelly in the past. It is really good and very easy!

How is everyone doing this week?  I'm doing well, lonely as DH is on a (fairly tame) boys' trip, but feeling good.  My back has been bothering me for probably over a month now and it's still acting up, but otherwise things are good.

 

Any important updates/new appts/etc?  Just had our regular appt with our OB last Wednesday and got to hear the heartbeat again, love it!  I've resisted getting a home doppler as I know my PgAL brain couldn't handle not being able to find the hb ever and I'd be in emerg every second day.  We have our a/s next Friday, July 13 - while we're not finding out the sex I am SO EXCITED for the super duper u/s!

 

Prayer/Positive Thought Requests?  Just that this pregnancy continues to be a healthy, positive one and that everything turns out well at our a/s.

 

GTKY: Feel free to share a favorite Party/Cookout Recipe! (EXTRA points for those that include pics )   I love bringing my mother's tea biscuits, they are so good and super easy to make:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees

Blend together:  1 cup white flour, 1 cup whole wheat (2 cups white make them fluffier), 4 teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt

Cut in (use pastry blender) 1/4 pound margarine or butter, then add about 3/4 cup of milk, stir with a fork then use hands to make soft dough.  Turn dough onto a slightly floured surface and knead gently.  Pat to desired thickness.  Cut out with a floured cutter (I use a glass).  Place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet, bake 12-15 minutes.  Can also double recipe.  Enjoy!

It's very simple, but really yummy. It's just potatos, mayo, apple cider vinegar, celery, eggs and salt and pepper. I never measure and just go by taste. It's so refreshing and delicious when it's hot outside!

I'm so sorry to hear about your fall! You are definitely in my thoughts and prayers. Thinking of you for your Ultrasound thursday as well! Can't wait for the update!
