I plan on doing cloth wipes along with the cloth diapers because I figure it really will be easier that way so I don't have to have a diaper pail and a trash can and everything can all be washed together. As far as where I'm getting them, I registered for some or I figure I can go out and buy some flannel/fleece fabric and make my own if I don't get any for my shower. I can't imagine they will be too hard to make and trust me I'm not a sew-er...my domestic skills are totally lacking in that department but thankfully I have a mom who has a sewing machine and the patience to teach me!
Haven't quite decided yet. I'm thinking we'll probably have some cloth and some regular. I'm easing everyone (e.g., DH, my mom) into the idea of cloth diapers so I'll probably ease them into the idea of cloth wipes too. Certainly sounds easier to just toss everything into the wet bag.
I also plan on doing cloth wipes. I figure since I'm already washing the diapers, it won't be much additional work to toss the wipes in with them. I was given a pack of 24 baby wash cloths that I'm wondering if I can use as wipes. Otherwise, I think they sell 10-packs on Amazon for fairly cheap.
We'll be doing cloth wipes too. I got flannel on a great sale, so they work out to be $0.25-0.35 each. To make mine, I sewed 2 8"x8" flannel pieces together. With 42 inch wide fabric, I could make 10 double thickness wipes per yard (I decided to make 8 per yard and get a couple of burp cloths out of the extra).
I use cloth wipes. I didn't at first with DS, but it ended up being just as easy. I ended up buying mine from Nicki's Diapers (ETA: Imagine Brand) because I wanted them immediately (DS was reacting to the disposable wipes we were using) and I used Bummi's spray on them (diluted to 50%).
All of my wipes are single ply flannel and they work fabulously. I do have some cut up fleece that I used as diaper liners when DS had a bad rash we were trying to figure out, and I don't think I'd want to use it for wipes personally. It is definitely easier to not have to sew edges, though.
Yes to cloth wipes in the BF/FF first 6 months. Unsure on cloth wipes when we move to solids, might just be easier to throw poopy wipes away that dunk them in the toilet.
I use cloth wipes at home and they are easy peasy because they just go right into the pail with the diapers. However, I am a huge fan of the Costco Tencel disposable wipes for everything else. I prefer them out and about because I can use them to clean up virtually anything from anywhere not just baby bottoms. They are great at getting spills out of clothes and cleaning up car upholstery etc. etc. and if I tuck them in a cloth diaper while out and forget about them when I go to wash, they don't come to shreds in the washer. In fact I have some cloth diapering friends who wash and reuse the Costco disposable wipes.
So, we are a yes to cloth wipes at home and a disposable wipe on the go kind of family. At home we used cheapo baby washcloths for DD. For DS I'm going to use a friend's surger to make up some flannel wipes. We'll see which I prefer.

I would love to use cloth wipes. I CD my DD at home and would think it would be super easy. However, MH doesn't care for CDs and he said absolutely not to cloth wipes. I make him buy the wipes now.
Yes, we will use cloth wipes, too. I figure we're washing anyway and where in the heck am I going to throw a bunch of poopy wipes...in a plastic bag every time?
I do not sew, so I've been bookmarking some on Etsy.

I am def. doing cloth wipes. I knew I would use them as soon as I decided to CD but in the course of my research, I've read a lot of things about sposies being a PITA, since you would have to have a wet bag & a trash can. I am making mine. I used some old flannel pillow cases & pj's. They are super soft. I haven't read a lot of great reviews on any of the ones from cottonbabies or kellyscloset- they all complain their too scratchy and too overpriced. I bought a sewing machine and made a whole butt load of them.

I used disposable wipes with DD and will use a mix for DS. I use disposable wipes for a lot of stuff besides diaper changes especially with a pre-schooler!
I would not use fleece as a wipe as it doesn't absorb. I use fleece liners though.
We use them, and love them. They clean up so much better than the paper wipes, and you just wash them with the dipes. I HATE throwing the disposible wipes away (they don't flush well) so we use cloth even with his solid poops.
How concerned are you, or how careful are you, about getting all of the poop off of the wipe before throwing it in the wet bag and/or washing machine? I'm super paranoid about solid food poops in the washing machine. I'm not worried about BF/FF poop, obviously. A few of my CD friends said it's just easier to use disposable wipes for solid food poops.
I have only ever used cloth wipes. I bought regular wash cloths and I can clean up about 99% of diaper changes with one cloth. I use plain water with a few drops of TTO (to prevent yeast) mixed in.
For the solid food poop, I've never really had an issue with poop in the washing machine. I've found some residue maybe once or twice in the past 18 months, and that was likely from a CD that had come home from child care that I was less than diligent about spraying, or didn't notice some poop had fallen into the bottom of the wet bag. I just try to wipe as much as I can into the diaper to dump out...I don't think I've ever sprayed/dunked a cloth wipe.
Disclaimer: my DD has never really had terrible BMs; they usually plop right into the toilet. I'm a fan of (minimal) use of flushable liners for periods of nastier output (like the initial switch to solids or a serious teething episode).

You know, I'm not too worried about it. I scrape the poop off the diaper into the toilet with the wipe most of the time, and I rarely have a problem. Once in a while I'll find a tiny stray nugget in the washer, but we wash twice and rinse thrice, so a tiny piece is NBD to me. I never have poop still stuck to the diapers or wipes.
I don't have a diaper sprayer, though, so I imagine if you have one of those it will be even less of a worry.
We have a sprayer, and never ever have solid poo in our washer (I'm very thorough). Props to you for CDing w/out one-- I hate, hate, hate the dunk-and-swish method.
And OP, ?we use cloth wipes from Green Mountain diapers, and keep them in a wipes warmer in a solution made with Baby Bits from Jillian's Drawers.

I found later that you can also find great deals on cloth wipes via etsy. For instance, this is an excellent price if you don't care what they look like: https://www.etsy.com/listing/74362728/reusable-cloth-wipes-grab-bag-flannel?ref=sr_gallery_27&ga_search_query=baby+cloth+wipes&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=ZZ&ga_ref=auto1&ga_search_type=handmade
I'm considering making my own wipe solution using this: https://wellnessmama.com/1459/natural-homemade-baby-wipes-recipe-easy-and-inexpensive/ either to keep wet wipes or as a spray.

This is likely what I'll be doing as well. We already have some disposable wipes but I would like to switch to all cloth once we get used to it all.

I am. I registered for a bunch of OsoCozy wipes on Amazon.
I figure if we're washing poop and pee in the washer, what's a little more? DH doesn't care, either.
