Cramping without blood?

DH and I went out to garage sales yesterday (it was kind of hot 90's but we went really morning). We got back home and I was craving some food so I ate, but later that day I felt weird. It felt like I ate too much so I really didn't eat the rest of the day. At 2 in the morning I woke up and was cramping. I was panicking and couldn't sleep until I got up started moving around and had a bowl movement after which I felt better. Is this normal now during this stage of the pregnancy? I haven't had any cramping before and I didn't have blood. LO was still moving around like normal, but it felt like period cramping but maybe a little worse (my periods are usually not that bad). I'm just wondering if this is how it's going to be with bowl movements now or what! Just wanted to see if anyone has experienced this before.

Re: Cramping without blood?

  • I'm not as far as you but I get really bad aches in my lower abs when I need to have a BM.  Sometimes I get cramping but I think it might just be growing pains if it's not a bowel thing.

  • In my experience so far, If you do not have a bowel movement for a few days the build up eventually will want to come out BUT its hard and moves slower. Your insides have moved around and so the pain can come in different areas depending on where your insides shifted to. Basically you are constipated.

I can't tolerate a lot of milk products so if I have not had a bowel movement after two days I drink as much as I can in order to get things moving again. That or I find some prune juice or apple juice. Its not very fun but I do feel better after and the cramping/pain goes away.

  • I have found anytime I have a lot of cramping that it is generally from a bm. Otherwise it's most likely growing pains. I would probably mention it to your dr (I've found extra fiber to help) but otherwise try not to stress too much.

Congrats to my GP Sister from another mister Bruinsbabe!!

  • Like several of the pps said, I've had the same thing happen a lot.  I'm not as far along as you, but I have cramping off and on pretty regularly, sometimes it seems to be related to digestion but sometimes there isn't an apparent reason.  It's been my understanding that as long as there's no spotting, you're probably fine!  You might mention it to your doctor just to be sure.  Hope you feel better!
