Stimming 8 days, worried, need advice

Hi! I don't post here very often because I usually lurk and we've been on a long treatment break, but I am in the middle of my first IVF cycle, and I'm really worried that things aren't going well.

I have been stimming for eight full days now (300 IU follistim in AM, then 75 IU follistim in PM with 75 IU Menopur).

My estrogen has gone from 76 after four days to 205 after six days, and now, after eight days, it's 448.

I have only two measurable follicles; an 11 mm on my left and a 12 mm on my right. Not sure what else is there, but the tech explained that they don't "count" until they are 11 mm.

I was instructed to keep stimming and to add Ganirelix now, and my next monitoring is on Tuesday AM.

I really thought my estrogen was supposed to be super-high by now and that I'd have tons of follicles, but then again, I feel so clueless since it's my first time. The nurses don't seem concerned when they've been calling in the afternoon with results.

Do I need to get ready for disappointment, or am I just getting impatient (hope so). Thanks.

while I have not done IVF, I've been on the boards for a long time. I know there are some that hard to stim and end up stimming for 20 days. Hang in there, I'm sure you have some more small ones that will catch up soon. And voice your concern on Tuesday- they can give you and idea of some people that end up stimming longtimes.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. I'm trying (and probably failing) not to be too anxious through this process. I'm sure I'll know more after Tuesday's appointment.

It looks like your estrogen is rising appropriately, more than doubling every two days. It is just taking you longer than average is all. It's still very normal to stim 12-14 days, even as long as 20 days (as PP mentioned).

Hang in there! Good luck on Tuesday!

Thanks so much! I appreciate the responses for a "lurker." :) I'll keep doing what I'm doing and hope for the best.

This! Good luck! Did you do lupron first? I remember girls saying sometimes they over suppress and it just takes some extra time to start up.

No Lupron. I was on the BC pill for about three weeks, and I stopped approximately five days before I started stimming.
