I was really surprised. We live in kind of a red neck area, and all their other kids have, well, normal names. A Bobbi Jo, Billy and so on. I feel terrible for the poor kid.

Maybe they're going to call her Dilly, which is quite preferable to her full name.
Nice save!! I'm definitely a "to each their own" person when it comes to naming babies and do my best not to comment when I think the parents have chosen a particularly bad name. I don't think I could have contained myself on that one!!
I have my fingers crossed that you SOMEHOW heard him wrong. If I were that child I would be going by my middle name (hopefully it's better than the first), or a name of my own choosing until I was 18 then it would be changed legally to Susan, or Sally.

Sure, but what's the dad's excuse?
Are you delirious?!? No, but she is.
Labor Buddy to Blowfish11
Wow, yikes. Very soon she'll learn the nickname Della and never tell anyone her real name. Either that or become a stripper.
(ok, that was mean. i take it back. well... kinda...)
Love that movie. Even though it depresses the hell out of me.
