Pregnancy Back Pain - Help!

I am currently just over 5 months pregnant and have an office job where I have to sit for long periods of time.  Any advice about sitting positions that won't make my back hurt?  I've tried sitting on one of those bouncy ball things, elevating my feet, just trying to sit straight and none of them seem to work.  I don't know how I'm going to make it another 4 months if I don't figure out how to alleviate some of this pain!

Re: Pregnancy Back Pain - Help!

  • My office manager ordered a Kensington "memory foam seat rest" for me that I place at the small of my back when I sit......I *never* get back pain from work, now.  Just on the weekends chasing the toddler.  :)

  • Have you tried a sacral cushion in your office chair?  That and regular chiropractic visits to a practitioner who was trained in Webster technique (great for pregnant clients) helped a lot.

  • The only way I can deal with the back pain is getting up and walking at least every hour for a few minutes. I also keep my feet elevated under my desk and make sure I have good posture.
