Okay, I know everyone suggests trying a few different types of CD to see which work/fit the best. I'm fairly certain I will be taking this advice. Do you have any advice on whether to start with a newborn CD or should I just start with the smallest regular/or one size one CDs? Thanks for your help!!!

Re: Opinion about new born cloth diapers
Definitely go with newborn CDs if you want to CD from birth. One size generally don't fit well until baby weighs 10-12 pounds despite claims that they will fit from 8 pounds. DD didn't fit in her OS diapers except for the one Kawaii Pure & Natural until she was about 10 weeks old and she is an average-to-large baby.
For us, there was only a short amount of time, probably 3 weeks, when he was too small for OS diapers. We filled the gap in with sposies that were gifted to us and a dozen nb size GMDs. That worked really well for US.
Some babies do not fit well into OS diapers for several months, whereas others fit into them right away or very quickly. I'd recommend doing what we did and buy just a small amount of newborn sized diapers until you know for sure what you will need.

I would do newborn prefolds and covers if you want to start right away. I used green mountain prefolds (orange edge) and thirsties covers (3 xs, then smalls when I ran out). I think my kids were in the newborn prefolds for 8-10 wks. You probably could get away with using just small covers, but the first couple weeks, babies are so tiny that the xs was a better fit.
I think AIOs were to big for my newborns ... Gaping holes around the thighs :-)
