2nd Trimester

23 weeks and only flutters

I'm 23 weeks and 2 days, and I'm still only feeling little flutters.  I only really notice the movement when I'm sitting.  When I went in for my u/s at 19 weeks, they said my placenta was anterior which means that baby's movements might be more difficult to feel right away.

Anyone else going through this?  When did you start feeling the true aerobics in there?  I love the flutters, but I want to feel this little one dancing in there already!

Me: 25 DH: 30, TTC since 9/2010 June 2011 found out we have MFI (less than 300,000 sperm) Only hope is IVF/ICSI IVF #1: ER on 11/16; ET on 11/19; Negative beta on 12/1 IVF #2: ET on 2/2; BFP on 2/13!!! Easton James was born on October 30, 2012!!

Re: 23 weeks and only flutters

  • I'm 24 weeks and mine are nothing crazy either. I can feel them a bit from the outside but I only feel them about 2 times a day when I'm not moving.  At work I rarely feel them.

I'm curious about other peoples experiences too though

  • I only felt little flutters at 23 weeks...

I would say I felt BIG kicks just a week or two ago at 25-26 weeks.

  • I am 24 weeks 1 day and I am still only feel that "popcorn" feeling as well.  I had a u/s yesterday and she it moving like crazy so I know things are ok.  I haven't felt any movement yet though.  I too have an A/P and I hate not being able to feel anything.

  • I am also 23 weeks and have the very same situation as you.  My first would kick the crap out of me day and night, and this one is just light flutters due to anterior placenta.  They said to expect things to pick up later in pregnancy when the baby starts to get bigger and the placenta naturally moves upwards.  That's the most I've heard about it so far.

  • In all honesty, though, any movement is good movement even if it feels smaller :)
