Progesterone Level?

I had a beta draw this morning that came back at 50.4 which they said is fine (I go for a second draw Friday). She said my progesterone level only came back at 20 so it is low. The doctor had already prescribed my progesterone suppositories yesterday but I had to wait for my insurance to 'approve' them to start today.

 Can anyone help me out with what the level should be about?

It depends on how far along you are.  I had blood work done with my first at 7 weeks and my progesterone was only 11.  Apparently that was the "low end of normal" for that stage.  I've taken prometrium (oral form of progesterone) through the 14th week for each of my previous pregnancies and am doing it right now as a precaution.

20's not bad, actually, so it may be a better safe than sorry thing.  Initially, mine was at 11, and the doc I saw while trying to get things sorted with my normal doctor refused to supplement, because it was still in normal ranges, if at the lower end.

It then dropped to 8, and my regular OB began supplements immediately.

Most RE's like to see higher than 20 on medicated cycles.  GL with your next draw!
