2nd Trimester

Frustrated!!

Today I am 18 weeks and 3 days and yesterday we had a checkup. Well needless to say I gained 9 pounds in a month and my doctor said, "This is a little higher than what I would like to see from you". Clearly I know that is way too much but I have been so hungry that I can't help myself. I kind of stopped working out because my caring husband was so nervous that I workout in my frist trimester that I just got used to not working out but that ends today.

Last week I signed up for a new and very nice gym because my old one closed. Today I will be back walking and doing light weights. I always told myself when I got pregnant that I wouldn't be one of those women that just let myself go. I have to keep my promise to Me.

Needless to say the baby is going strong with 154 heart beats a minute. Can't wait for July 10th to come so I can finally find out if my suspesions are correct and I'm having a boy.

 Have a great day ladies.

Re: Frustrated!!

  • Good luck! I had to stop working out for a few weeks early on due to spotting but now I'm back. I did let my second gym membership go though. I belong to a gym in the town where I work and I quit the one where I live. I just go during my lunch break and if I want to do something when I am at home, I go for a walk since there is a good trail down the road from where I live. I don't know why but the midwife told me not to do any weights. I'm still sneaking in a few light weights here and there but only doing one set. I will probably stop even light weights soon though but keep with the cardio.

  • I'm in the same boat! I've gained 18 lbs at nearly 17 weeks! No bueno! I don't do any regular form of exercise, but I really should start (slowly). I signed up for a 5K (to walk of course) on July 4, so that's a start. I can also do Comcast On Demand exercise videos too. It's just getting the motivation to do it! After a long day at work it's hard. :( Good luck!

  • I was doing pretty good with my workouts up until a couple of weeks ago.  Now just walking seems to cause me a lot of right hip pain.  The Dr said its just RLP and I am fine but it takes my breath away at times.  Still trying to do yoga and walk a little even if it is just 15 min.  I am hoping that something is better than nothing.  Gonna also try to swim

  • I try to walk 2-3 times a week with my friend. Most of the time it feels more like a chat/ biitch fest but we end up walking about 2.5 miles each day! Grab a friend or your husband and use the time to talk about stuff too!
  • Thanks laides, I am looking forward to get a bit of excerise in today and hope to keep it up. The firs trimester had me so tired and after working a full day all I could do was go home, eat, put my pj's on and pass out for the night. Now that I am feeling better I have no excuse. My gym even has pool and water aerobics and I would like to try that out.

Hopefully next month's check up will be a little better. But what's most important is the little peanut is healthy.
