2nd Trimester

I'd kill for some jalapeno poppers! Damn Cravings!

These cravings are killing me!  I could eat cream cheese jalapeno poppers every day.  Ohhh, and orange soda.  1st trimester my cravings were so healthy, fruits and veggies... now, I want fried foods, specially the poppers, but not limited to just those.  I'd take anything deep fried.  I've been pretty lucky, and actually lost weight in 1st tri...... but I think I am going to make up for it in 2nd tri.  

I'll also eat just about anything that isn't pinned down.  Seriously, my hunger has gone from not to bad, to starving, even after I have already had a meal.

Anyone else having cravings, or not able to stop being hungry?

  • I'm weird.. I could go without eating until 12 or 1 everyday (well, most days!) then after that I'm unstoppable! I want to eat anything and everything right until I go to bed! I'm bad for seeing/hearing about a certain food and needing to have it! Like anything I see in a tv commercial.. or on a sign/billboard on the side of the rd while driving.. or this post about jalapeno poppers! OMG lol
    If I don't give in then it tends to pass. Pretty much because I forget about it and find something new that I want. haha
    My actual cravings are pretty much anything spicy.. or chocolate/sweet..

  • My entire pregnancy I was craving fried chicken. We tried making it at home, but that didn't satisfy. So monday I picked up some KFC on the way home, 8pc bucket with large mashed potatoes and gravy. I had 3 pieces for dinner, and 4 more pieces for breakfast the next morning LOL (Yes my bf only had one breast, he doesn't like left overs.) So yesterday I had a fat free salad for lunch and an equally healthy dinner.

  • That sounds so good. But this acid reflux is killing me so I don't think jalapenos would be a great idea for me.

    I say if your really hungry but also craving junk, pig out on healthier stuff and then treat yourself with the poppers here and there.





  • agreed!!! Jalapeno poppers are all i've been craving too! that and nachos. 
  • First tri I craved things like fruit and veggies, and tomato-based meals. Now it's Reese's peanut butter cups. For a few weeks, I would get ravenously hungry and have to eat in the middle of the night, while grocery shopping, etc... Now my hunger isn't too bad. I haven't had breakfast and it's after 10 a.m. I guess I should grab something.

  • Don't get me started with the commercials.  I have to quickly try and change the channel once I notice it.  Specially if its for something like Olive Garden.  I thought about asking my mother in law to let me know the next time she goes to the Dr.  Then I can drive her, and we usually end up at Olive Garden.  I could live off the soup salad and bread sticks.  Oh, and hells bells, Panera.  I could eat there every day.

    Fried chicken has been a big one for me too.  I used to be a KFC junkie, until I found a place called Pizza Ranch.  Their chicken beats KFC out of the water.  I told DH I have a secret dream of getting a bucket of chicken from Pizza Ranch, then going and getting a gallon tub of mashed taters and gravy from KFC, and just sitting there with a fork and napkin, eating it all.

    I am happy to announce, I will be calling the bar in town in about 45 minutes, and ordering the jalapeno poppers.  I totally wish they had fried zucchini too, or fried green beans, just so I could have a veggie in there.... healthy healthy!  Haha.

  • i actually just snack throughout the whole day, which is weird because before i got pregnant i would sit and eat a big meal twice a day. but i feel like it's nicer this way. i'll eat a peanutbutter sandwhich, then some cherries three hours later, etc. but i do of course, eat jalapeno poppers as well :PP

  • They were delish!!!!  I would have preferred them with blue cheese dressing, but since I can't have blue cheese (booohoooo) I went with ranch!  One craving down.... about a million to go!

  • I went through a jalapeno popper phase too.  I was stopping at Arby's at least once a week for the poppers.  So good with the sauce they have.

  • This has been my EXACT craving for weeks now! Unfortunately I can't eat gluten so I need to make my own at home and I just haven't gotten up the energy to do it yet. I'm thinking maybe this weekend I'll whip some up... with bacon in them... and a raspberry dipping sauce. So weird but SO GOOD.

  • I want jalapeno poppers too! To help keep the calories down(and price) I've been making just baked stuffed jalapenos with 1/3 less fat cream cheese. I make them once a week - sometimes twice a week. :) Bake at 400 for 20-25 mins. ;) 

    Also, i was the same as you, lost weight during first tri and it does tack on later (I'm 24.5 weeks and up 12 lbs total, 10 since my last apt at 20 weeks) but it is still midly controllable. :)

    I have some in my freezer from a first tri craving. The TGIFridays brand. Don't get them. I wanted the cream cheese ones and these have some awful waxy cheddar.
