Re: Why am I gagging so much?
I don't gag when brushing my teeth but I do when I'm in the milk section at a grocery store. For some reason I always think it smells like rotten milk, I run to the cooler and get the hell outta there. Also the meat and seafood section is always a joy!
I don't neccessarily need something to set me off. This pregnancy my gag reflex has been worse than last. It has actually caused me to throw up on a few occasions. Oh well, the things we go through to bring more joy into our lives.
This. I'm starting to think my back teeth might rot because I can hardly brush them. It is so bad.
Mine is horribly sensitive, too. Brushing my teeth is unpleasant, and (TMI) certain activities with DH are downright impossible now. We found out the hard way.
It was the same with us my entire first trimester. I never had m/s or nausea, but my gag reflex was TERRIBLE. The weirdest, most random things would send me into gagging fits (and then later, THINKING about the things that set me off would once again make me gag). It was the worst when I was driving, because I would be so terrified I was going to vomit on myself in the car. I would recite people's license plate numbers in my head while I hummed to keep my reflex at bay.
It calmed down once I got out of my first trimester, but I've noticed it starting to peak back up again here towards the end of my second. But it's still not nearly as bad as before.
