I looked around on FF, but didn't see this....
1) What is the window of time that you can temp and still get a closed circle?
2) Can I change what time is considered a closed circle?
3) Hypothetical scenario: My temp time is 7 am. I wake at 6, and lay around reading in bed. I don't move in bed much (only to reach over for book off bedside table), don't sit up, don't get up to pee. Do I temp at 6 because it is when I woke, or at 7 because that's when I'm supposed to?

Re: Wiggle room on the same time temping?
Temp when you wake up. You want your body at complete rest, and even though you may not "feel" like your body is doing any work, it's doing alot more (and therefore creating more energy) while awake, even while just laying in bed.
If you don't want an open circle, don't change the time in FF. Simple as that!
*edited because I said closed instead of open.
***EVERYONE WELCOME***
Is the point that FF has an easier time doing the math, so to speak, if the circles are closed? So I could just not change the time, make a mental note that that could affect my charting, and then be more diligent about it if I don't see O?

Better to temp when you wake up (so after at least a good solid four hours of sleep) Then to be exact on time. If you don't want the open circles, then don't insert the time.
I havn't temped in about a year, but I rarely temped at the same time every day (but within about an hour) and I always had a clear shift. But of course this is what happened to ME, and it might not be the same for you.
But yeah if you wake up at 6, whether you move or not, you need to temp when you first wake up.
1. Always temp when you wake up - like when your eyes are barely open. Lying around reading just waiting for 7 isis not an accurate way to temp. More important than the actual time you temp is that it is a waking temp, and after 3 good hours of sleep. Ie, if you wake up at 5 one day instead of 6, temp at that time. Always aim to temp at the same time, but there are times when that just doesn't happen.
2. You can change the default time in FF in chart settings. You can program it sobit always records 6am regardless of the time you enter your temp, or have it automatically record the time you enter the temp. Your choice. (that depends on f you enter when you temp, or go back and record info later)
3. I think you have 30 minutes either direction before it opens a circle. FwIW, TCoYF will discard a temp of its outside of an hour time frame
4. FF as a program does not care if the circle is open or closed, it computes it the same for the most part (it may give you dotted instead of solid CH's instead, but it will place the CH's at the same location) The reason you open circle a temp is to gauge the reliability of those temps so that you can better judge wether a temp is worthy of discarding it or not. Only by discarding a temp does FF re-compute the data..

This. I (would) temp whenever I get up, and don't enter a time in FF so I don't get all open circles.
