how often can I take tylenol?

I had some dental work today and I took a Tylenol at 5...when can I take another? It's starting to hurt. And it was one 500 mg tab.

Every 4 - 6 hours, if you take more than 500 mg though, I'd stay closer to 6.

I was told to not exceed 3 grams a day by my doctor.

Typically, you can take it every 4-6 hours, but I wouldn't do that all day long.
