Positive HSG Experience :)

Hi Ladies,

Just wanted to share my HSG story as I read so many before the test!

It was a piece of cake for me, thankfully!  It took about 5 minutes.  I had a little bit of period-like cramping when the balloon was inflated and again when the dye was injected, but it wasn't bad at all.  I did take 4 advil.  Both tubes are clear!  Here's to one more month trying on our own before we move forward with IUI and Clomid!

Wow, you're lucky.

Mine wasn't awful, but even if it hadn't hurt at all, I don't think I would call it positive (the whole lying on the x-ray table with my legs splayed out while like 5 radiology students mulled around might have something to do with that...)

The 5 radiology students would have made it worse for me for sure!  I had a super sweet lady PA do the procedure and one friendlyfemale nurse assisting.  They talked me through everything.  I also think that since it was at my RE's office instead of the hospital, they had all the right equiptment and expertise.

I am still having mild period-like cramps hours later though which isn't particularly fun.  Don't get me wrong...it wasn't a day at the park, but it went as positive as it could have gone and way better than what I expected after reading so many stories!

I once had a student attempt to do my pap -- she couldn't "find" my uterus.  Seriously.  I have opted to only have my doctor since then.
