I was paying for and scheduling my next prenatal massage and the girl at the counter exclaimed that I must be either insane or superwoman because she noticed my calendar not only had my work schedule and my doctors appointments but also my school schedule.
Is it really that bizarre that I am working and going to school all while pregnant?? I feel its fine but she and her co-workers were shocked/surprised.
I am planning on taking a lower class load and maternity leave when baby Alana gets here but I don't see how its abnormal or uncommon.
Re: Is it really that uncommon??
I just don't get why people assume that just because we are growing a baby means we can't still live our lives. My doctor encouraged me to stay busy and active because it not only keeps you physically ready but emotionally you don't have time to deal with crazy hormone induced crying fits.... you just keep going because you are needed.
I wanted to look at her be like "I'm not broken, I'm just pregnant"... instead I smiled and finished writing in my next appointment then left.
I really want that shirt that says "My super power is growing a human being. What's yours?"
I work 60 hours a week and working on my masters in accountancy at the same time. I take about 6 credit hours an 11 week semester. I only plan to take off the fall semester becuase I am due in October. This summer semester I opted for two online classes as sitting in class causes major swelling. I am hoping that I can start back up in the winter where I left off.

I worked part-time and went to school part-time while raising a 2 year old when I was pregnant with DS. It was pretty crazy, but totally doable for our family.
Good luck with school and baby!
Me too. I'll graduate next month, though...and I can't imagine working and taking classes while raising kids. Women who do that do blow my mind!
Totally not uncommon....
I find it weird when people think that a healthy pregnant woman can't work. My one friend tells her husband she can't work because she's pregant (she was totally healthy)...then again, she refuses to work now that the kids are in school, and they need the extra income.
I work full time now, but with my first I was working full time, but on a rotating shift. So I worked days, mids and nights, and weekends were 12 hour shifts, some weeks I clocked over 45 hours, but it was fine to me. I worked up until my due date.
Same here. Working on a masters and I have a 4 year old running around.
