Let me start by saying that I was overweight and trying to lose weight when I found out i was pregnant. But I'm worried that I'll just look bigger/fatter instead of looking pregnant. I've recently run into a couple of people I havent seen in a while & the 1st thing they do is look at my belly. I feel like I should be showing but I'm not so I feel the need to tell people that I've only gained a few pounds, which is true, and that is why I dont have a baby bump.
Anyone else with similar feelings or situation? Am I being too sensitive?
Re: Lack of bump
How far along are you? I have been really similar to you but this week I feel like I have been looking more "pregnant".
How far along are you?? I started showing to my DH and I at about 14 1/2 weeks. I'm in the same boat you are as far as being overweight and JUST starting to finally lose weight when I found out I was KU.
I have this one friend who doesn't think I'm showing, and gives me crap for wearing maternity clothes "already" (my regular clothes DON'T fit/hurt when I wear them.) I say, w/e. My baby is healthy, I'm comfortable, and there isn't anything anyone can say/do that will get me down because I'm happy with where I am for now.
Now, that doesn't mean that I'm not going to kick this weight's BUTT after the baby is born.
You'll look pregnant. Don't worry. I have seen TONS of pictures of "bigger" women and they totally don't not look pregnant. Weight shifts around.
I am going on 24 weeks and still have a small low bump. It has me a little worried but everyone is different. I had a lot of saggy skin from loosing 100 + lbs a few years back which also left me with very loose abs. The dr. told me the baby will fillout a lot of this space before I even notice anything.
