TTC after 35

I was having a pretty good week until...

I got home and there was an invite waiting for me to my cousin's baby shower. Not only did I not know she was pregnant, (I have a feeling there was some intentional forgetting to tell me on my families part) but she's due two days before my EDD. Great. And if that's not difficult enough, my EDD is on my 40th bday. (I thought this was the most wonderful thing when I got my bfp).

I've been kidding myself that if my IVF happens in July as planned I'll find out if it worked about a week before my bday, so I'll either be celebrating conservatively or totally partying my butt off. But I'm totally NOT going to be ok if it doesn't work. Emotionally I'm not prepared for it to not work but I also feel like I have to go through with it...this sucks.. why can't everyone else's lives just freeze in time until I get pregnant, it would make things so much easier.

Also, can someone tell me wtf is up with my temps this month, my chart is ridiculous. Every day when I put in my temp FF changes my O date, even FF is confused. Im really worried I'm going to have the longest cycle ever and then my IVF cycle will be delayed.

Re: I was having a pretty good week until...

  • oh, I am sorry!  That is so much to deal with.  I wanted to curl up and cry on my EDD.  I think you may have just O'ed yesterday?

  • I am really sorry - you're having a really tough month with that really crappy CS rep and all of the spotting/wonky O detection.  You need a drink!

I'm not a chart expert and you only show 2 charts in your link - but is high 97s common for you post-o temp?  Are you sure you O'd?

Me: 37 DH: 37 TTC since Jan 2012. RE consult and initial testing done in Aug 2012: SA fine, AMH 1.1 & HSG clear - on way to IUI but got BFP on 9/10/2012. m/c 10/3/2012 at 6w5d. BFP next cycle which was a c/p. IUI #1: Clomid 100mg 12/6= BFN. IUI#2 (unmedicated) Jan 2013 = BFN. Hysteroscopy 1/25/13. IUI#3 Clomid 100mg 2/23 = BFN IUI# 4: BFN. IVF #1 April 2013, BFP!  EDD 1/12/14 with Boy!

  • That must have felt like a punch in the gut to see that EDD so close to what yours was.  I'm sorry...do what you need to do to take care of yourself.

As for your chart, is there any reason your temp dropped so much on cd20? a/c set too low or woke up w/o blankets? I think that's why your o date changed...you'll just have to wait and see unfortunately.

    Me: 38, PCOS/ DH: 37

    My Chart
  • Yup, my coverline is usually anything under 97.4 and anything over 97.5 and high 97's are typical of my post O temps, that's why I was sure that I had O'd once my temps jumped, sometimes I get a slow rise. That being said I've been spotting for over a week now, the day I had that temp dip I had one day of no spotting and now it's back..I think I might be having an anovulatory cycle. The RE's office said you can have a totally messed up cycle after the IUI cycles. Annoying..

  • Hunh-- I thought your temps looked okay... I've had some dips, even below the coverline, post-O...

We're just going to have to have a discussion with your uterus-- failure in July is NOT an option!
